The recently completed replica of GWR Churchward ‘Saint’ or ‘29XX’ Class 4-6-0 No.2999 ‘Lady of Legend’ with straight running plate and vertical front drop end, inside steam pipes, long cone boiler, top feed and 3,500 gll tender at the Great Western Society, Didcot Railway Centre, 20 April, 2019. It is newly painted in what appears to be in GWR unlined Brunswick Green (officially Middle Chrome Green) livery as it appeared in WWII, although I suspect there was no time to apply lining as the GWR crest and name is yet to be applied also. The loco was rebuilt from GWR Collett ‘Hall’ or ‘49XX’ Class No.4942 ‘Maindy Hall’ and some parts from two original ‘Saints’. The ‘Saint’ Class was probably the most influential express/mixed traffic steam locomotive design in the UK in the 20th Century. Very much influenced by American practice (Churchward was friends with A W Gibbs of the Pennsylvania RR), the taper boiler, belpaire firebox, outside cylinders and piston valves with integral cast steel saddle for the drumhead smokebox, the high running plate and stark lines (compared with the conventional Victorian/Edwardian style) was completely at odds with British practice at the turn of the century. After a prototype was built in 1902, two further much redesigned prototypes followed in 1903, one temporarily being converted to a 4-4-2 for comparison purposes. Production based on the latter two prototypes followed in 1905-13 (including 13 built as ‘Scott’ Class 4-4-2’s but later converted to 4-6-0’s), a grand total of 77 being completed. The later ‘Hall’, ‘Manor, ‘Grange’, ‘Modified Hall’ and ‘County’ Class 4-6-0’s were a direct development and they in turn influenced the LMS ‘Black Five’ and Standard Class 5 and 4 4-6-0’s. The ‘Saints’ were withdrawn in 1931-53, a very long lived class.
Knox College students in Spanish 103, taught by professor Tim Foster, order coffee in the Beanhive coffeeshop, after walking through downtown Galesburg, collecting information about stores and other locations, to answer questions in Spanish; at the end of the excursion quiz, held on a chilly spring morning, the professor bought coffee for the class at the Beanhive, one of the sites on the list. On hire to Arriva Rail North, this TransPennine Express 185 has just arrived at Blackpool North having worked the 11:29 1N61 from Manchester Airport. The legacy of the recent upgrade lingers on here, as there are only two trains an hour, causing significant overcrowding on this sunny bank holiday weekend. Rail services were bolstered by buses from Preston every fifteen minutes, but it has been an inauspicious restart to rail services. The Desiros are becoming less frequent visitors to the resort as well, their duties being assumed by 156s and (assuming the wires eventually do go live) class 319s.

The Leander-class, or Type 12I frigates, comprising twenty-six vessels, was among the most numerous and long-lived classes of frigate in the Royal Navy's modern history. The class was built in three batches between 1959 and 1973. It had an unusually high public profile, due to the popular BBC television drama series Warship. The Leander silhouette became synonymous with the Royal Navy through the 1960s until the 1980s. Only two Leander Class Frigates survive today, serving in the Ecuadorian Navy as of February 2015.
On 7 March 1960, the Civil Lord of the Admiralty C. Ian Orr-Ewing stated that the "Type 12 Whitby-class anti-submarine frigates are proving particularly successful ... and we have decided to exploit their good qualities in an improved and more versatile ship. This improved Type 12 will be known as the Leander class. The hull and steam turbine machinery will be substantially the same as for the Whitbys. The main new features planned are a long-range air warning radar, the Seacat anti-aircraft guided missile, improved anti-submarine detection equipment and a light-weight helicopter armed with homing torpedoes. We shall also introduce air conditioning and better living conditions. "The 1963 edition of Jane's Fighting Ships described it as a "mainly anti-submarine but flexible and all purpose type".
"The Leander class have the same hull and substantially the same steam turbine machinery as the Whitby class, but are a revised and advanced design and will fulfil a composite anti-submarine, anti-aircraft and air direction role. The 40mm guns will eventually be replaced by Seacat ship-to-air launchers. The ships are equipped with VDS (Variable Depth Sonar), formerly known as dipping asdic.

Taken 02/02/18; Although they displaced many of the favourite diesels of my spotting years, the HST125s/Class 43s are indisputably a remarkably long-lived class. No. W43002 the first production power car of set 253001 was repainted in original livery for the 40th-year celebrations in 2016 and named 'Sir Kenneth Grange'. Sir Kenneth was responsible for the aerodynamics, interior layout and exterior styling of the nose cone of the HST 125s.
Family and friends of Pedro and María along with other Academia Cristo students from Costa Rica.
María and Pedro downloaded the Academia Cristo app in late 2020. They watched all 38 self-study videos in the App. When they finished those foundation lessons, they were invited to sign up for live, online classes. They successfully finished all 13 live classes in 2021 and loved what they had learned. After a thorough review of the doctrinal points with Missionary Nathan Schulte from the Latin America mission team, they were welcomed as a brother and sister in the faith.

A fourth and final "first day of school" in Des Moines as some high school students return for in-person classes. But it will be short-lived. Classes will go back to being online next week as the state's lack of response to the pandemic is seeing a large spike in COVID-19 cases throughout Iowa.
DPS*** Assignment: "Doorways" May 29 - June 12, 2013
I wanted to shoot something different and unique for this assignment. I thought about the field of doors near Ocean City, but the drive was a bit too far on a weekday, just to take one shot of that. Gas is expensive, you know! So I decided to try something inspired by Brooke Shaden. You should check out her work if you get a chance. My photoshop skills are pretty basic compared to what she does with it, but after watching her Creative Live class, I was inspired to try!
General shed view, just before the cessation of steam, when commonly steam and diesel mixed. Never was much of a diesel fan but in this shot captured one of those rare, short lived Class with the flat front. Don't think they lasted even to get a TOPS number. You can correct me if I'm wrong. Last weekend, I was just north of Seattle for the Kenmore Camera Digital Expo. It was a huge event!! 8 different classrooms going all the time with professional speakers and shooters... an enormous sales floor where everything was discounted... and 10,000 eager shooters there to learn and buy.
When I was asked by my friend Bob to come out and teach at his Expo, I was only too happy to go back home.
For our live lighting class, my new friend Sheeba was not only a true professional, but a good sport. She made making images live in front of a group fun and easy.
There ae a couple more from these shoots that stand out. I will post them soon.
I am looking forward to making more images of her on my next trip to the soggy Pacific NorthWest.

Life drawing online in Melbourne at The Art Room. The sketches are from beautiful poses photographs. This is the last online session for the year . I would love to go back to live classes but not sure if/when I will do this.

Day 7. OK, there were so many good shots today, I couldn't choose just one. This is my second pick for today. Been watching some Creative Live classes on posing, so figured I would adapt some of the principles to taking a "simple portrait" in the snow.. The sun was setting to my back, so it was the perfect time to get some portraits.

Introduction to Penetration Testing Certification (KLSFP)
Penetration Testing with Linux is a fundamental course for any information security professional. This is the most complete update you will have access to. All new content samples, step-by-step instructions, and of course access to our interactive learning labs have been updated and loaded with even more real-world goals. This year, we have added entirely new content to the active directory environment Penetration Testing that Windows detects and develops. Linux-based buffering overcomes client-side attacks, web application attacks, antivirus evasion, and elevation exploitation infrastructures such as Metasploit, Power Shell Empire, and others.
Whether you are new to penetration testing or just want to hone your skills and put them to the test. KLSFP with the collaboration of Hacker Computer School will provide you with hands-on knowledge of the latest penetration testing tools and methodologies, and help you develop the mindset you need for a successful career in information security.
This Week in Bristol, Indiana - July 14, 2016. Summer weather in Bristol, Indiana brought out visitors to the down town Parks. Cummins Park, behind the Elkhart County Historical Museum with the new features attracted more activities during the second week of July, 2016. Coach Caitlin Rae Miller. a coach through Team Beachbody is holding a PiYo LIVE! class on Thursdays at 5pm in Cummins Park. Cost is $5 a class. The first class was on Thursday, July 14.
