2017's Summer MCM's Comic Convention is over, but the memory still lives on, and burns as bright as the sun that radiated on those beautiful days. These are are some of the moments from the Saturday convention.
Bottlenose Dolphins Captive Selection January 18 , 2014
250 plus Bottlenose dolphins were held in the killing cove for over 19 hours. This morning after sunrise, dolphin killers and local dolphin trainers entered the cove via skiff. As the small boats drifted past the massive pod of dolphins, the fear and panic could be felt and seen as the dolphins began to thrash and spy hop. An unsettling feeling knowing their fate was moments away.
The captive selection began shortly after 7am this morning as the two pods were further divided to make it easier for the killers to maneuver to ward the shore.
Babies were separated from their mothers and herded under the tarps.
The first of the captives that was taken this morning was the rare white bottlenose calf. The killers hid the baby dolphin under a tarp and transferred immediately to Taiji Whale Museum.
A total of 25 dolphins were kidnapped from the cove during the eight-hour captive selection today. One dolphin did not survive the traumatic process and was dragged to the butcher house. The killers held up a giant tarp to hide the carcass from our cameras. All three captive facilities: Dolphin Base, Hotel Dolphin Resort and Taiji Whale Museum had trainers in the cove. Taiji Whale Museum transferred 3 dolphins by truck and 2 by skiff. The rest of the dolphins were placed in the harbor holding pens. No dolphins were slaughtered today.
The remaining 200 plus pod will be left divided and will be held for a second night in the shallow waters of the cove until the captive selection will resume at approximately 7am tomorrow morning.

Mayweather vs Maidana News: ‘El Chino’ Confident He’ll Hit and Hurt Floyd Jr.

Marcos “El Chino” Maidana feels confident about his chances against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their upcoming showdown on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In an interview with BoxingScene on Tuesday, Maidana admitted that beating Mayweather will be a gargantuan task, but he believes he has the power to hurt the reigning pound-for-pound king, and possibly score a knockout.
“We all know he’s a great champion but I’m preparing well and every time I fight a good opponent and I catch him with a good shot I hurt him and I could knock him out. With Mayweather, I expect to catch him with a good shot and I feel I’m going to hurt him too,” Maidana said.
Maidana, who will put his WBA welterweight title on the line, will be a heavy underdog heading into Fight Night, but the 30-year-old Argentinian is unfazed, saying that he is used to being an underdog.
“Every time I come into a fight with a good opponent, I’m always the underdog, I’m never the favorite. But that doesn’t matter because I like to give surprises,” Maidana said.
Maidana is coming off an upset victory over then-unbeaten Adrien Broner in their title showdown in December last year. He was also a heavy underdog before the fight, but he managed to defy the odds, knocking Broner down in rounds two and eight en route to a unanimous decision win.
Boxing analysts believe that Mayweather and Broner have similar fighting styles, but Maidana pointed out that Mayweather is way better than Broner because of his speed and experience.
“I think Mayweather is much faster, walks the ring more and has more experience. They have a similar style but it’s not the same thing,” Maidana said.
Maidana also insisted that Mayweather made the right decision of fighting him instead of British boxing icon Amir Khan, saying that a Mayweather vs Khan showdown would have been a boring fight.
“I think Khan vs. Mayweather would be a very boring fight,” Maidana said. “They are both boxers and neither of them are going to attack, so that’s why I think it would be boring.”

#YouTube now lets you #Livestream right from its mobile app
YouTube announced that it is adding the capability to broadcast live video right from its mobile app. This capability is said to be rolling out to select creators first, but it is expected to become available to more people later on.
On stage at VidCon, YouTube product lead Kurt Wilms revealed the latest feature to come to the popular video social network. Although YouTube has had livestreaming capabilities before, it was limited to those with verified channels and was done through the Creator Studio.
Today’s news confirms our report of a more accessible livestreaming tool for people and the company says that it will be “baked right into the core YouTube mobile app.” This also puts the service into direct competition with Twitter’s Periscope and Facebook’s Live video, both services that have recently been in the news and have seen some pretty sizable adoption.
