In No Roots, the real star is the double bass. If we could, we’d have five bass players on stage, but we couldn’t find that many, so we played with what we had. It still shook the floor and carried the whole rhythm forward.
This is a cover of Alice Merton’s song, and we wanted to keep its drive while adding a bit of our own lightness and lyricism, the kind that comes naturally in Maya’s voice. It’s raw, playful, and honest.
