An Educator , researcher and designer with 20+ years of experience. She has been the founding HOD of premier design schools in India. Her doctoral research with the Title "A Semiotic study of the Indian Sari" has garnered a lot of interest in the academic community as well as the Industry.

We were delighted to have an interactive live session with Mr. Anuj Sharma - Ace Fashion Designer. Anuj Sharma is a fashion designer who doesn’t believe in leaving designing only to the professionals. He has taught 20,000 individuals how to stitch their own clothes through his initiative Button Masala.
With a post-graduation degree from the National Institute of Design in material design and a Masters in sports design from the UK, Anuj Sharma (42) spent a large part of his career teaching fashion at institutes such as NIFT. Then he dabbled with fashion and worked for six consecutive Lakme Fashion Weeks. The last one was with concept of — Button Masala, which he has been teaching since 2010.

Summertime. First things first, the original belongs to George Gershwin from Porgy and Bess in 1935, with lyrics by DuBose Heyward and Ira Gershwin. Then came the pillars, Billie Holiday set the early standard, and Ella Fitzgerald with Louis Armstrong turned it into timeless gold. We listened to almost every version.
From there the song kept traveling, Janis Joplin burned through it, The Zombies gave it their color, Paul McCartney delivered a beautiful reading, and Sam Cooke offered the most intimate one to our ears. We shaped our approach around that feeling and adjusted the key and phrasing to fit Maya’s range.
Here is our own acoustic take on Summertime, simple, close, and true to the melody we love.

You can feel how deeply it was crafted.
We recorded our studio cover of Familiar with a sense of awe, as if we were approaching the unknown itself. Last winter we filmed the music video, which resonates strongly with the spirit of the song and its sound. After the shoot, each of us felt a real catharsis.
Now listen to the acoustic version. It is no less powerful, and we hope it carries a special spirit.
