This result was taken on a very fruitful day in November 2019, when lots of fog was hanging around on the hills and valleys. If you are going to visit the woods as well, leave nothing than your footprints and do not take anything than your impressions.

The Scottish Highlands

Last year, whilst wandering the Scottish highlands, we revisited the three sisters and decided to find a viewpoint we missed previously. The walk from the car park was fairly short had we knew where we were going but it turned out, we didn’t. Nonetheless it was a great hike with a lot of laughs along way. The view we were photographing interested all of us but for me, I just couldn’t work the scene. After a while we packed up and made our accent up to the road side. It was there that I spotted and made this incredible photograph.

Without hesitation, I dropped my bag and reached for my camera. Using the 70-200 allowed me to create an intimate image. The mist in the valley creates a sense of mystery and allows you to explore the image, whilst the rugged landscape holds your attention.

Witnessed a nice set of dramatic clouds over this corn field. It appeared as the plants were praying to the clouds to give the rain.

I'm just a little bit in love with this shot! 😍

We had twenty minutes where the sun went behind clouds so sat on the quarry cliff edge having lunch when suddenly a thin vertical slice of sunlight broke through and began quickly working its way along the layers of Dinorwic slate quarry. I tracked it along hoping it would hit this lone tree and as it did it turned completely luminous against the gorgeous purples and aquas of the slate.

It was there one second and gone the next and I knew we had captured somthing special when me, Ryan and Phillip all shouted ''bloody hell!'' at the same time as the cameras fired away 😆

FR] Retour sur le premier orage nocturne de 2022 survenu en avril dernier. Une nuit très électrique durant laquelle les orages se sont succédés le long des côtes varoises pendant une bonne partie de la nuit. Cet impact hyper esthétique fut assurément le meilleur moment de cette chasse !

[EN] Throw back at the first nocturnal storm of 2022 which occurred last April. A very electric night during which thunderstorms followed one another along the Var coast for a good part of the night. This impact was certainly the best moment of the whole night !

Electric week #6⚡️

[FR] Quelle sensation de pouvoir observer un orage comme celui-ci se former depuis le début, surtout lorsque la visibilité est si bonne ! Ca commence par des bourgeonnements nuageux qui se forment en mer, discrets au début puis de plus en plus imposants. Et lorsque celle cellule finit par s’allumer et lâcher ce genre d’impact, le spectacle est garanti !

[EN] What a feeling to be able to watch a storm like this develop from the start, especially when the visibility is so good! It starts with budding clouds that form at sea, discreet at first then more and more imposing. And when this cell ends up lighting up and releasing this kind of impact, the show is guaranteed !

A brilliant blue backdrop adds contrasting drama to the breathtaking rain squall. Snowy mountains anchor the shot and give perspective to the massive size of the storm. Diagonal lines of light add interest as they slash through the downpour. This is Mother Nature showing off just how powerful she can be.

Souvenir d’une nouvelle nuit passée à contempler les étoiles et la voie lactée depuis les calanques de l’Estérel. Actuellement, les conditions d’observation des étoiles ne sont pas idéales dans le Var mais je tacherai de saisir les opportunités qui se présenteront. J’espère que cette vue vous plaira

Une agréable aventure nocturne pendant laquelle j’ai observé la voie lactée ✨ se lever derrière ce rocher typique du massif de l’Esterel.

[FR] Magnifique cellule isolée en début de vie qui lâchera ensuite plusieurs magnifiques éclairs extranuageux (photos à suivre 😉). J’adore ce genre d’ambiances qui sont juste magiques à observer et photographier 😍

Retour sur une situation orageuse qui s’est développée en mer le 30 juin dernier. Plusieurs cellules se sont formées en Méditerranée se déplaçant d’Ouest en Est jusqu’à ce que certaines d’entre elles se rapprochent suffisamment des côtes Est Varoises pour le plaisir des yeux. Ici un triple impact tombé durant l’intervalle d’une seule photo (15 secondes ici).
