I can say there are many things that don't ever happen the way we planned

But in that there is no reason to wish for anything but happiness

And wish for joy and above all to wish to know love

Forgiveness is for you to live peaceful in your life, not the person you're forgiving.

But if you're strong enough to also wish them peace in their life

You will feel a freedom that only faith and the man above can give you

To know that it's the best feeling like the weight of the world has been lifted from you

The gift of life can be long or short

You can have it all or nothing

But when it's all said and done I want to know I have gave the best of me

I have gave my all and never regret for one minute that I missed out on something

When I go to bed at night I pray for those I love, For those who have ever touched my life, for those I can't stand but hope they find their way

And then I ask to be forgiven for any bad things that crossed my mind

And that if possible to keep them thoughts away from me the next day.

We're only human and we will fail, even our best intentions can be wrong

To be able to say alright I see this wasn't right lets try something else.

Lets see what I can do to make it better

Who can I make smile today and make their day?

Who needs something I can give them and try your best to help

For giving one genuine smile of happiness or having one

Is what makes us smile years later at the oddest times.

To see a smile touch the eyes of someone or even yourself

For it's never real unless it shines all the way to the eyes

But when it does the joy reaches through to more than just the person doing the smiling

It reaches anyone who can see it, and you'll always remember it.

Try your best and you will see, Smiles are always going to be free

And so will the things that really matter in life.

They will just take your time and we always should have some to spare

Because in the end there won't be time to go back and do it again

We only get one time to live this life

Make it count every single day even if it seems silly

You may never know how important the little things are

It's the ones that you remember the most.

“Forget regret, or life is yours to miss.”

Continuing my mini tour of Upper Adams today, I stopped by Houser Estate Winery. Did the full tasting, all very good wines and ciders. I recommend going. Have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. I decided that I really like the wine made with apples and pears. After all, this is Apple Country!

Grateful for this project and helping me remember all the things I sometimes take for granted in my life.

I have so much to be grateful for and I'm happy I was reminded that everyday is a gift and it's said all the time but living life to the fullest is really what it's all about. Making each day count, knowing that even when things are tough it can always be worse.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments throughout this project. I'm so grateful for all of you! <3

In Part 5 of this story, I wrote about my first flight - as an unaccompanied child ( www.facebook.com/MyIMRAN/posts/431285358999715 ) aged 7. The "Unaccompanied Child" PIA tag from the first flight was lost over the next half century of my journeys of life, but it is etched in my memory. To this day I must have a window seat because I hardly ever sleep on a plane. The only exceptions are if it is an extremely long, especially night time, flight and in particular over a dark sea and under a dark sky.

Otherwise, I I stay awake. I love watching the world go by beneath me since that first flight from Karachi to Lahore. I retain that child-like wonder and amazement at how such a massive thing as a heavy/metal airplane can so smoothly lift off into the air, travel thousands of miles, and gently touchdown again.

My beloved late father’s bold decisions, like having me put on a flight as an unaccompanied child on my first flight, and many other brave actions, especially as parents for their firstborn child, even in a developing country since the late 1960s, had a deep impact. They gave me the even more precious gift than that of flying in an aircraft before anyone in my family. They gave me the confidence, from early childhood, of taking flight in any direction in life, anywhere in the world, destination unknown or known, on my own. That gift from my beloved parents stays with me even today, in my life of journeys. I pray that it will until the end of my journey of life.

In the case of this photo, I am heading towards a destination that will not be a mystery for long. I love that a sunset over a different ocean and continent than my usual ones was visible in the photo behind me. You can clearly see that I have been awake 36 hours at the time of the start of this latest journey. And, for the record, I never smoked, drank alcohol, or tried drugs of any kind. In fact, I abhor all those things. That is a non-alcoholic beverage by my side, in case someone wonders! Rather than consume anything that dulls the senses, I am addicted.... to saying awake, as much as I can,... while I am stayin' alive, stayin' alive..... LOL.

Thank you beloved Abu & Ami for everything, and Almighty Allah for an incredible adventure, a life of journey. It has been a journey of life beyond what I can ever claim to deserve, and far beyond what my words of gratitude can acknowledge.

Flying By A Journey Of Life, A Life Of Journey Flying By - IMRAN™

(Part 1). Like any little boy, or many a grown man, I had always wanted to be a fighter pilot, since the start. Wanting to fly was in my genes and soul from the day I started the journey of life, through my taking off for new lands and new adventures over the next decades, and even now.

With several uncles in the air force, I always dreamed of joining the Pakistan Air Force before I moved to the USA. When Top Gun, the movie, came out, it instantly became one of my favorite movies, with Danger Zone becoming one of the 10 anthem songs in the soundtrack of my life.

I even wrote a script treatment for Top Gun 2 in the early 1990s and sent it off to some Hollywood executive's wastebasket! And, now an actual sequel, Maverick, is coming out literally the weekend of my upcoming birthday.

This photo was taken nearly 20 years ago, when my dear pilot friend Roger E. and his wife Joyce picked up me and my then beloved Christie from Palm Beach Airport. The girls sat in the rear passenger seats, and Roger let me pilot his beautiful Piper aircraft to Sebring, Florida. As we were on final approach, race cars roared around the track beneath us. I treated us all to lunch, and then we explored the hangars near the famous race track there.

Life is too short not to live it to the fullest.

When do you actually just get to live life?

You are born. One, two years later and you are already getting prepared for day care, nursery school, followed by pre-school which only prepares you for kindergarten.

Kindergarten only teaches you to be a first grader, and eventually a second grader, who’s only purpose is to get you prepared for third grade and so on, which only makes sure you are ready for middle school.

When middle school comes around you are only getting prepped for high school, in which there are exams to qualify you for college.

College. Finally leaving home for the big world out there. But the reason you go lays on the fact that you want a job.

However a job only prepares you to save up money for when you are older, having a possible family.

Suddenly you realize you are considered a elderly grand parent as your children go away to school. After preparing your children for the world, they are off, to learn things of their own, and you are suddenly planning for when they become your age.

And then, just like that, life comes and sweeps you off your feet, and you ask yourself: where did my life go; when did I simply get to just live...

Flying By A Journey Of Life, A Life Of Journey Flying By - IMRAN™ (Part 4)

(See part 3 at www.facebook.com/MyIMRAN/posts/428751555919762 ). Known as a maverick all my life, even before Tom Cruise's character Maverick in Top Gun made it a more commonly known 'name', I retain that spirit to this day by the grace of the Almighty. I hope to never lose that zest for life. I do that even more as life is flying by faster than even the fastest plane I used to read about as a kid.

That plane was the Bell X-2 Starbuster, which had it first flight exactly ten years before I was born. It reached a maximum speed of ~2100 mph, with a service ceiling of 126,000 feet! Also, in the period of history my existence on earth aligned with, the late American hero aviator and astronaut Senator John Glenn also became the first American to orbit earth. That was literally 3 months before I landed on earth and saw the world with my own eyes for the first time.

But no matter how deep in space an astronaut goes, or by what Mach factor the speed of sound an aviator blows, or how gently a small aircraft a hobby pilot speeds and slows, it all begins with the most fundamental of flying lessons often in he simplest of aircraft. This photo captures the essence of that scientific reality that gives us wings to fly and experience what was once the realm of science fiction. Until one day we all, pilot and non-pilot alike, hop on a one way flight to the heavens.

Many of us will choose, if God wills it as I do, to be buried in solid ground near the feet of my beloved parents' graves. But even then our spirits will soar far beyond the skies. I want to live a life that, when that time comes, my soul is ready to mingle into the brilliant yet invisible universe of dark matter, light heaven, and infinite streams of stardust. I choose to live a life that makes that moment of eternity become a flight faster and farther than the X-2 Starbuster,... the solo flight of Me, Myself, and I.... StarDuster!

Flying By A Journey Of Life, A Life Of Journey Flying By - IMRAN™ (Part 3)

In part 2 ( www.facebook.com/MyIMRAN/posts/427904326004485 ) I wrote about the need for speed. Even the yellow tail on one of the USAF planes was the same color combination as my Yamaha Enduro from my engineering university days. But there were other connections to both my passions and to my life story.

This was a place where warbirds, general aviation aircraft, and ground speed demons were all on display.

Even though I got rid of my father's beloved but dreadfully unreliable British car the day he had flown to USA for higher studies, the heavy-as-a-brick stainless steel Jaguar hood ornament we took off it is are still kept as a family heirloom in Pakistan.

So it was interesting to see the (I am sure) slightly faster and slightly cooler looking and surely slightly more reliable Jaguar racing cars and aircraft right where I was standing. It was even more coincidental and ironic that the green and white colors of my motherland, Pakistan, adorned the British race car and the tail of another of the planes from my adopted homeland, America.

If only there had been a Yamaha motorbike there at that time, that would have been so cool too. But kidding aside, what a joy to be able to experience all of that, in one moment, in one spot, and even more so, in one amazing lifetime.

What a blessing to experience life and all these interconnected experiences even half a century and half a globe apart. What a gift of God to have lived with more true unconditional love of family and loved ones than even a giant movie star like Tom Cruise and others ever had or could ever have.

Even as I leave the motor of life humming, ready to roar speeding to the next adventure or jumping off the deck into overdrive of adventures, I've been to, and still love thriving in.... The Danger Zone... even when everything is at a standstill.

Ok so I just couldn't help myself, I had a chance to catch this guy, so I did! My Papa took the pic for me. Obviously, I have a love for dragonflies, you will more than likely see many more of them coming up in my stream.

The meaning of a dragonfly changes with each culture. The main symbolism's of the dragonfly are freedom, renewal, positive force and the power of life in general. Dragonflies can also be a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity.

Also, as a creature of the wind, the dragonfly frequently represents change. And as a dragonfly lives a short life, it knows it must live its life to the fullest with the short time it has – which is a lesson for all of us.

There are many different representations of the dragonfly; it all comes down to which culture you happen to be in. For instance, if you are in Japan, the dragonfly symbolizes a new light and joy.

Some animal symbolism has the dragonfly representing good luck, prosperity, swiftness, purity, harmony and strength. Some Native Americans believe dragonflies are the souls of the dead. There are also many cultures that believe that the meaning of a dragonfly is happiness, courage and subconscious thoughts.

It is also believed that if you see two dragonflies paired together that they represent love and maturity.

The dragonfly has been a symbol of happiness, new beginnings and

change for many centuries and even though the representation of the dragonfly seems to change throughout the cultures, there are still a few things that are similar; the dragonfly means hope, change and love.

Since cultures vary, others may see the dragonfly as a symbol of financial wealth like savings. With the constant changing of the world, it is no wonder that more and more people are adopting the dragonfly as their totem and admiring this beautiful insect.

This vision it dances

This picture so clear

The salty breeze is caressing

But the stormclouds are near

The sand is still warm

The fireball is fading

The day creeps into the night

The stars begin their parading

The lightening is distant

And the thunder belating

The palms seem to be reaching

I lie here watching and waiting

The clouds expose heaven

Twinkling with light

I wonder if someone is out there

Looking back on this perfect night

Waves crashing the reef

Sounds so distant and rare

I’m lonely ‘cause there’s no one

With which this moment to share

As I find the big dipper

A shooting star streaks

To find an angel I wished

It came true the very next week

By Narayan, 1992

A week before we met, Narayan lay on a beach in Costa Rica and dreamed of meeting someone special. We had met at a dance a few weeks earlier and he called me for a date when he got back and the rest was the romance of the century. He had written this poem in the same year and showed it to me much much later. The love we experienced together continues to expand and ignite other dreams. Although I miss him so much, I know our love continues to move mountains.

What does it mean to truly LIVE...

Living fully takes courage and courage is the ability to do something that frightens you, to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation.

I don't think it means you're never scared but it does mean you're willing to push through the scary parts of life and choose to live through them. It means you don't let fear control you or stop you.

To live fully is to risk...

~ being hurt

~ being a failure

~ feeling pain

~ being judged

~ being rejected

~ being discarded

~ having your heart exposed

~ being misunderstood

~ being laughed at

~ being wrong

~ being embarrassed

~ being uncomfortable

~ death

But if we were never to step out and risk living our dreams, ideas or what was being asked of us for any of the above reasons we'd have wasted a life that was given to us as a gift. To step out and do anything that pushes us out of the comfortable is to risk something and the closer to our heart the dream the greater the risk in fulfilling it.

I love this verse in Joshua 1, Joshua is about to cross the Jordan and take possession of the land promised to them by the LORD. It's a big deal crossing into this land, it's inhabited, there are giants in the land and their enemies need to be defeated. This is what the LORD says to Joshua in verse 9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

The LORD was on his side...the God of the universe and there was no need to be terrified or discouraged. God knew that the potential for fear and discouragement were there and so he addressed it, telling Joshua He would be right there with him. God sees the big picture and He wants us to trust Him. And in Christ I have this same promise from God...He will be with me wherever I go. It's His desire that I live life fully...the life that He has given me and the plans that He has set before me.

As a mom it's such a joy to see my kids live life fully. To see them step into life, to embrace it and face some of the tougher things and work their way through it. And so if it brings me joy, I can only imagine the joy my Father in heaven feels when He sees His children walking in His ways no matter how difficult the path. Because all of our paths will be filled with straight stretches when it's smooth sailing, with sunrises warm upon our face, pot holes you could almost get lost in, bumps you could lose control over, wash outs you think you'll never recover from and then the straight stretch comes again...the sun rises again and you're alive and you're living fully...

"When God speaks, often times His voice will call for an act of courage on our part." ~ Charles Stanley

“Pitiful is the person who is afraid of taking risks. Perhaps this person will never be disappointed or disillusioned; perhaps she won’t suffer the way people do when they have a dream to follow. But when that person looks back – and at some point everyone looks back – she will hear her heart saying, “What have you done with the miracles that God planted in your days? What have you done with the talents God bestowed on you? You buried yourself in a cave because you were fearful of losing those talents. So this is your heritage; the certainty that you wasted your life.”

― Paulo Coelho

“Let the attitude of your life be a continual willingness to "go out" in dependence upon God, and your life will have a sacred and inexpressible charm about it that is very satisfying to Jesus. You must learn to "go out" through your convictions, creeds, or experiences until you come to the point in your faith where there is nothing between yourself and God.”

― Oswald Chambers

“Stop looking for the path of least resistance and start running down the path of greatest glory to God and good to others, because that's what Jesus, the Real Man, did.”

― Mark Driscoll

I'm always amazed at how such delicate, gossamer wings can carry the long body of this beautiful insect. I took this photo of a dragongfly last year. I was playing with my new camera, and it just showed up! Although you can't see the delicate wings very well from this angle, I did get a nice bokeh effect. But sadly, it was overcast, the light was wrong, and I didn't have a tripod ... so I added one of Pareeerica's beautiful textures [thanks Paree!].
