St. Saviour's Anglican Church
The quiet dignity and reverence of this Anglican Church gives little hint of the hardships endured by early missionaries in the roaring Cariboo gold camps. The story of its construction by Rev. James Reynard is an epic of noble endurance consuming 18 solid months of hard moral and physical work. So here we have a colour postcard, postmarked ‘Sutton 19 Feb 1910’ and captioned ‘Old Cottage Banstead Village’ (that's Banstead in Surrey, where I spent the first 25 years of my life). I have a feeling this is completely stylised, but who knows – perhaps this old cottage really did exist.
The postcard is published by S. Hildesheimer & Co of London and Manchester, and is listed as ‘Views of Sutton & District, No 5518’. It’s addressed to Miss Lizzie Farrow, Killingholme, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, and sent by her Auntie: 'Uncle Robert improving. Last year at this time I was with you all. It was better weather too.'
A little research reveals that Siegmund Hildesheimer (1832-96) founded his company in Manchester, and that he had a branch in London. Hildesheimer postcards primarily employed a chromo-lithography printing process which was done in France and Germany ‘or at local English printing houses’.

I'm stampolina and I love to take photos of stamps. Thanks for visiting this pages on flickr.
I'm neither a typical collector of stamps, nor a stamp dealer. I'm only a stamp photograph. I'm fascinated of the fine close-up structures which are hidden in this small stamp-pictures. Please don't ask of the worth of these stamps - the most ones have a worth of a few cents or still less.
By the way, I wanna say thank you to all flickr users who have sent me stamps! Great! Thank you! Someone sent me 3 or 5 stamps, another one sent me more than 20 stamps in a letter. It's everytime a great surprise for me and I'm everytime happy to get letters with stamps inside from you!
thx, stampolina
For the case you wanna send also stamps - it is possible. (...I'm pretty sure you'll see these stamps on this photostream on flickr :) thx!

Bring in the press!
Workers bringing in a ±1900 stone lith stop-cylinder at the MIAT (Museum for Industrial Archaeology & Textile, Gent Belgium). Box on top of the press contains electroshock material.
Enjoy a complete photoset on the subject by Erik Desmyter.
Start disassembling!
Erik Desmyter, Jos Pastijn, Sybrân Snoeck and Peter Van Lancker continue work on the MIAT industrial lithography press. Erik just seems unstoppable at stripping all components at once to clean them really thoroughly. Erik and Jos are firmly convinced that this machine will actually even function again. Anyway work continues on a regular base now every Saturday afternoon.
Any extra hands would be very much appreciated.
