watching the blue/gray Yellow Dog Linux v6 screen at 720p on a 9-foot by 3.5-foot screen, now installing pkg 375 of 1258 to a 540GB PS3 HDD.
Arch Linux has been my all time favorite as it was the closest to Slackware (before systemd switch) which sticks to the KISS philosophy ;-)
Other than Arch, depending on use cases, Fedora, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE are good too.
Alpine has picked up its popularity as Docker rises but I've never been its fan, sorry.

I'm running Ubuntu GNU/Linux, the Dapper Drake release. Xgl/Compiz are working. This was captured with Gnome's screenshooter.
It shows the dialog box that pops up when I stop vidcap by clicking the gui stop button. Clicking the play button opens the capture with mplayer. The capture was one screen showing changing the opacity of tall terminal window. The xvidcap command was issued from the terminal in the lower left.
