Az Everex nemrég előállt a Walmart-on egy 198 dolláros (~ 34 500 Ft) "Everex Green gPC TC2502" nevű filléres Linux PC-vel. A PC-ben egy alacsony energiaigényű VIA processzor ketyeg. A gép egy, a Google alkalmazások széles skáláját felvonultató, gOS névre hallgató, Ubuntu Linux-alapú operációs rendszert futtat.

I'm running Ubuntu GNU/Linux, the Dapper Drake release. Xgl/Compiz are working. This was captured with Gnome's screenshooter.
It shows the dialog box that pops up when I stop vidcap by clicking the gui stop button. Clicking the play button opens the capture with mplayer. The capture was one screen showing changing the opacity of tall terminal window. The xvidcap command was issued from the terminal in the lower left.

Ursula, my desktop machine running the Ubuntu OS (Karmic Koala at the moment, soon to be Lucid Lynx) does enjoy her geeky toys. Shown running on one of her desktops today are: Twidge, a CLI Twitter client; and the BOINC Manager running SETI@home, listening for aliens from outer space. Ursula and I both know those aliens are out there, chatting amongst themselves. And we want to hear what they're saying, dammit!
