What is Caricom?
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is an organisation of 15 Caribbean nations and dependencies. CARICOM's main purposes are to promote economic integration and cooperation among its members, to ensure that the benefits of integration are equitably shared, and to coordinate foreign policy. Its major activities involve coordinating economic policies and development planning; devising and instituting special projects for the less-developed countries within its jurisdiction; operating as a regional single market for many of its members (Caricom Single Market); and handling regional trade disputes. The secretariat headquarters is based in Georgetown, Guyana.
Since the establishment of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) by the mainly English- (and English Creole-) speaking parts of the Caribbean region CARICOM has become multilingual in practice with the addition of Dutch speaking-Suriname on 4 July 1995 and Haiti, where French and Haitian Creole are spoken, on 2 July 2002. In 2001, the heads of government signed a Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas thus clearing the way for the transformation of the idea for a Common Market aspect of CARICOM into instead a Caribbean (CARICOM) Single Market and Economy. Part of the revised treaty among member states includes the establishment and implementation of the Caribbean Court of Justice.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COMMUNITY
The Community has the following objectives:
(a) improved standards of living and work;
(b) full employment of labour and other factors of production;
(c) accelerated, co-ordinated and sustained economic development and convergence;
(d) expansion of trade and economic relations with third States;
(e) enhanced levels of international competitiveness;
(f) organisation for increased production and productivity;
(g) the achievement of a greater measure of economic leverage and effectiveness of Member States in dealing with third States, groups of States and entities of any description;
(h) enhanced co-ordination of Member States' foreign and [foreign] economic policies; and
(i) enhanced functional co-operation, including -
(i) more efficient operation of common services and activities for the benefit of its peoples;
(ii) accelerated promotion of greater understanding among its peoples and the advancement of their social, cultural and technological development;
(iii) intensified activities in areas such as health, education, transportation, telecommunications.
The pride of Jay's arsenal, this is a build I made him a while back, and it has been on him almost constantly in Midian since. Jay used to deal drugs for the Hounds, and was an addict himself, although also being a rather cunning devious fellow he experimented with the contents of the many syringes he used and began to use them as weapons. I used to sport alot on his AV but it has since become common place, and in an effort to regain that unique aspect of his image I build this (everyone has syringes and razorblades now - which Jay originally converted from his drug use to torture).
IC this is a military bracer, and is a battlefield medic's automated injector, and it's rather unimaginative name at the moment is the 'Apothecary bracer, Mk III'. This gadget includes a synced comm unit, computer, recording and other audio technology, a screen, basic substance analysis capabilities, self injector, 6 different samples of drug, varying shots of each, a vapour generator, satellite and internet linkup, a sword breaker, and the ability to pump blood taken from a person trhough the needle, into the wearer's blood stream. It is controlled via nerve impulse, manual switching, or cybernetic relay.
Some abilites came with the military bracer, some are added...

This week's Texture Tuesday challenge with Kim Klassen was to use at least 1 layer of her freebie texture, Phoebe, from last week. Here is an Upside-down Jelly from my trip last Friday to the GA Aquarium. I used 2 layers of Phoebe (Soft Light @ 100% and Multiply @25%).
Be sure to check out the other Texture Tuesday linkups.
Highway 120 entering the park on the west side was closed due to the fires.
Over the course of our trip, a major wildfire (the so-called "Rim Fire") developed just west of Yosemite National Park in Tuolumne County. The fire, which began on August 17, had moved up to 6th on the list of California's largest wildfires and had charred nearly 200,000 acres by the time we did the TMC linkup on August 27. It was only 20% contained by this time, and the forecast predicted strong winds and hot weather, so it is likely it got even larger before it finally burned itself out. At the time we headed home, they had closed HWY 120 entering the west side of Yosemite National Park, ordered a mandatory evacuation for residences north of Old Yosemite Road, and closed some campgrounds and lodges. The raging blaze was expected to move farther into the park and threaten wildlife, giant sequoias, and the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir that provides most of San Francisco's water.
