Imagination Slays Time Space Limitations
imagination
can be as microscopic
as a grain of sand
yet infinite...
imagination
can be as gigantic
as an expanding universe
yet finite...
imagination is as microscopic
as a tiny grain of sand finite
yet as infinite as vast gigantic
an expanding rapidly universe...
simultaneously
imagination can be all things
in all conceived places
instantly simultaneously...

this project approach the issue of limitation as a personal, political, economic and religious conflict, and state social exclusion and exploitation ...
While taking pictures throughout this project I also tried to embrace my own limitations. Since I was facing the difficult intensity of my mental health struggles I didn’t have the energy, strength or clear thinking to take pictures with my digital or film cameras. So I kept in mind that I generally had my phone nearby, it was very lightweight compared to my cameras and was very simple to use with this app—basically just point and shoot. There was no film development, scanning or post processing involved with my simple phone photography process. So I was able to keep things very basic and focus on the act of seeing, capturing and coping.

In these pandemic times, it is sometimes hard to take flight whenever we want to. For those with ME/CFS, it must mean even more limitations. The ways we want to show support are limited with strict protocols. But, there are still ways to lift someone’s spirits and to show they are not alone. Make someone smile this week! (ME/CFS Awareness Week).
After all the limitations of the Covid 19 lockdown and the changes in almost normal working life, I urgently needed to have a road trip. When I saw this sight, I stopped the car, took my Nikon and took photos. I thought to myself, wow, it's like the grain field is a carpet or blanket that has been laid out in the landscape and lit by the last sunlight. As always at a sunset or sunrise, I was deeply in awe.
Thanks for visiting and stay well eyeryone!
Bondi Beach is an icon of Sydney's too. It also has strong links with Australian photography, from Max Dupain's quintessential Australian beach photograph, "Sunbaker" (1937) www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/collection/works/115.1976/
to Ann Zahalka's magnificent tribute, "The Bathers" (1989). www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/collection/works/96.1990/
This photo has nothing to do with those, but photographic history is important. In the same way, it might seem incongruous to suggest a link between this scene and the work of the first great English colour photographer famous for his beachside postcards, John Hinde (1916-1997). John's work is well known to anyone who collected English postcards during the second half of the 20th century. The printing technique he used (in Italy) created these wonderfully hyper-saturated images. www.johnhindearchive.com/index.php?Seasides#thumb
There is an element of the hyperreal in this photo as well, and that is more to do with the limitations and charms of the Panasonic DMC-FS7 camera itself.

Just found the limitation of my waterproofs.
As always, your comments and faves are much appreciated.
Then we boarded the train
that will lead us through the year 2017
No one knows what lies around the next bend
But whatever the starting point is, grab the days as well as possible.
See the possibilities rather than the limitations,
make the impossible possible.
Say that you love ....
Caring for others
Take a coffee break with a friend
Although you may not really have time
Say something positive to yourself every day,
and meet others with a smile and a positive word.
Take care of yourself
and others as well as you can;)
May our journey through the year 2017 be a nice trip for us all :)

Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding. Find out what you already know and you will see the way to fly.
Richard Bach.
Richard David Bach (born June 23, 1936) is an American writer. Bach is widely known as the author of some hugely popular 1970s best-sellers, including Jonathan Livingston Seagull (1970) and Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah (1977). Bach has authored numerous works of fiction and non-fiction, including One: A Novel (1989) and Out of My Mind (1999).
Most of Bach's books have been semi-autobiographical, using actual or fictionalized events from his life to illustrate his philosophy. Bach's books espouse his philosophy that our apparent physical limits and mortality are merely appearance. Bach is noted for his love of aviation and for his books related to flying in a metaphorical context. Bach has pursued flying as a hobby since the age of 17. In late August 2012, Bach was badly injured when on approach to landing at Friday Harbor, Washington, his aircraft clipped some power lines and crashed upside down in a field. Source Wikipedia.

“You know by now that I'm an orphan;
displaced; a fractured heritage
with broken bones and greenwood splinters
I find solace in my private hermitage
while they knit together and are cauterised;
my bones and wounds will heal
my soul will rise and truth will find me
within the Catacombs of Bastille
a chequered history when darkness fell
but somehow I will rise above
my mind still pure and innocent;
my heart and soul still filled with love.” - AP

THE BEAUTY OF YOU – JIMMY LaFAVE
Be your own anchor
and weather every storm
duck the flying lemons
be still within; the healing balm
of knowing who you are is rich
in love; in goodness; confidence
complete within your inner shell
a wholesome fruit no-one can dent
validate from deep within
there you will find the truth
don't listen to the tides that turn
the lies they tell; there is no proof
let your inner child and voice
supply the answers to your prayers
the truth will out and blood may spill
but love is there for those who share
understanding is the key
to our human frailties
someone hurt who screams and shouts
is only human and full of doubt
rely on yourself to find the way
a tree needs no outward validation
“it is what it is” my inner voice says
I can stand tall; no limitations
my soul is evolving to a state of being
as I move slowly to enlightenment
we must suffer; that's how we learn
a pain-free life is not our entitlement
all those who float along smooth paths
I do not envy you
for I consider life-lessons a gift
they make me stronger; they make me true
“consider the lilies of the field”
they rise; they fall; they are beautiful
leave tomorrow to itself
live in truth; be bountiful.

And finally I twist my heart round again, so that the bad is on the outside and the good is on the inside, and keep on trying to find a way of becoming what I would so like to be, and could be, if there weren't any other people living in the world.
Anne Frank
All this melting snow
undermining the expectant joy
of crocus blooms poking
through the clay and matted grass.
Melting droplets
impersonating cherry blossoms
on Japanese trees in spring--
they are falling in the breeze
replenishing permafrost
with something to freeze about.

For the last couple of days, it’s raining here in Doha, consequently no usual Friday photo walk. Never mind, I am glad to explore the new possibilities emerging.
Rain drops on my car’s windscreen .
Seen in the gardens of Anglesey Abbey (Cambridgeshire). I myself, as a photographer, became a willing victim of that serious geometry - until that is that this little girl sprinted into the frame. "What a relief", I thought. Life comes first. And then comes our imaginary order that we try to force upon ourselves and upon nature.
The Scarlet Tanager was posed high up and in a backlit position, but even with those limitations they are such a vibrant and eye-catching avian beauty.

A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain.
Robert Frost quotes
I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.

According to St. Maximus, this freedom of choice is already a sign of imperfection, a limitation of our true freedom. A perfect nature has no need of choice, for it knows naturally what is good. . . . Our free choice [gnōmē] indicates the imperfection of fallen nature, the loss of the divine likeness. Our nature being overclouded by sin no longer knows its true good, and usually turns to what is ‘against nature’; and so the human person is always faced with the necessity of choice; it goes forward gropingly. This hesitation in our ascent towards the good, we call ‘free will.’ The person called to union with God, called to realize by grace the perfect assimilation of its nature to the divine nature, is bound to a mutilated nature, defaced by sin and torn apart by conflicting desires. It knows and wills by means of this imperfect nature, and is in practice blind and powerless. It can no longer choose well, and too often yields to impulses of nature which has become a slave to sin. So it is, that that in us which is made in the image of God is dragged into the abyss, though always retaining its freedom of choice, and the possibility of turning anew to God.
