In my hometown of Chongqing, the city where I lived for twenty years—a modern metropolis—my childhood memories are still hidden away in many corners.
Certain buildings, some foods, and particular streets still look much the same as they did when I was a kid. These places are full of nostalgia and give off a sense of liminality that takes me right back.

Hospitals were always built on the margins. They often had logical, but insensitive, juxtapostions with other liminal places. Those who looked back on entering the workhouse would see the cemetery on the other side of the road .
Today those who must go to the private medical facility of St Hughes must pass by St Andrews Hospice.
I took this image for inclusion in my personal project which I did on liminal spaces in year 2 of the HND Photography course.
