going through computer and found this photograph of Lily the first week we had her/

Sometimes it surprises me what beauty can be seen even when the flower goes into seed as is shown here with this Lily. The camera opens our eyes that without it, most of us fail to look!!

Lilium candidum

Madonna lily

[Albinar 135mm / 2.8]

Taken at the War Memorial gardens in Ottawa.

In my garden Stafford UK 3rd June 2020

Bought in the days of having my own money and being allowed to go to town alone to spend it.

Day Lily soaking up the Sun and drying out from last night's torrential rains. We needed the rain, but 2" in 1 hr. is enough. funny though, that's how it is out here, feast and famine, a tough life for some and awesome for others.

This is a photo that I made while canoeing of a single lily pad floating on the river amidst reflections of the evening sky.

A scented oriental hybrid lily "Willeke Alberti"

Loved the curvy petals of this lily, this here reminded me of veils and Arabian nights full of exotic passion, LOL.

I brought this ’special’ Lily from Belgium, it did not travel well, and when it opened it was weird and wonderful, more to come!

Each time I think... that's it, there's only so much you can do with flowers... and yet again and again, I'll see something new.

Being creative is not a choice... it is an urge in me.

Have a wonderful day, filled with love and THANKS for ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated, M, (*_*)

Water lilies are an important religious symbol in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. ... Buddhists regard the water lily as a symbol of enlightenment because of the beautiful bloom that emerges from the mud. They also consider the water lily a symbol of purity, spontaneous generation and divine birth.

Taken in the small garden of my mother-in-law :)

A Macro session at home where I got to the heart of this Lily flower. This is 45 images focus bracketed in camera then focus stacked in Helicon Focus Pro.

More indoor macro this time looking close up at the Stamen of a Lily Flower. Some reflections in the water droplets of the LED light I used to increase the illumination. This is 15 images focus bracketed in camera then focus stacked in Helicon Focus Pro.

Flowers are those little colourful beacons of the sun

from which we get sunshine when dark,

somber skies blanket our thoughts.

Thanks for views, faves and comments!

Wish everybody good health and happiness, peace of mind and soul. Thanks for visiting my photostream eventhough I'm quite silent in the past months - not on purpose - but due to work and other things that keep my occupied.

Thanks for wonderful friendship here in Flickr and beyond!

Wish everybody blessings of good health. May there be peace within our hearts and peace in our surroundings so that it can spread all over the world. Wouldn't that be great when the next virus would be called "Peace" and would really hit everybody? Isn't peace what each of us desires for ourselvers and for everybody in this world that is the house of all of us? And it should be still the house for those who come after us... so we better take care and care for creation and peace in this world. May Peace conquer the world and not hatred!

I wish everybody in this most beautiful world would have respect before the other and it doesn't matter which color we're born in... nobody can help it when he/she is born as a white or dark-skinned person. We are all human beings and belong to one humanity! We share one house ad that is our Mother Earth!

I wish you peace deep within and that peaceful thoughts conquer all hearts and eventually conquers the whole world! Let's work for that, please!

The African jacana (Actophilornis africanus) is a wader in the family Jacanidae, identifiable by long toes and long claws that enable them to walk on floating vegetation in shallow lakes, giving them their alternative name of ‘lily-trotter’.

The jacana is a rare example of a polyandrous bird: one in which a single female breeds with several males. In fact, a female jacana (which is bigger than a male) assembles a harem of up to four consorts, and by breeding with each in turn produces multiple clutches - up to eight or nine in one breeding season - with an average of four eggs per clutch. Such prolific fecundity is vital. Numerous predators like nothing better than to snack upon jacana eggs, so it enables them to replace a lost clutch at short notice.

Macro of the lily sitting on top of the lily pads in a local lake.

Inspired by Monet. Lily pads with autumn reflecting in the water. It was rather time consuming finding a clean composition with just the right color palette, but it finally came together. Acadia National Park, Maine, USA, October 2018
