"Citoyens du Monde" et Jean-François Lilti soutiennent les deux journalistes français et leurs 3 accompagnateurs afghans retenus en otage en Afghanistan : pour la liberté d'expression et pour leur libération.

Rappelons qu'ils étaient partis faire un reportage pour le magazine "Pièces à conviction" et qu'ils ont été enlevés le 30 décembre 2009.

Retenus depuis maintenant 293 jours, les messages d'espoir et de solidarité qui arrivent jusqu'à eux leur permettent d'y croire et de se battre.

Pour cela, et pour un vent de liberté qu'ils méritent, leurs portraits sont apposés sur la coque centrale du catamaran.

Apple Tango, Larger and Lilt

Khushtar, which means ‘lilting strings’, is a bowed-string instrument played by the Uighur people. It is popularly found in Urumqi of the Uighur Autonomous Region. It was invented by Tuer Xunjiang of the Xinjiang School of the Arts in the early 1970’s, based on the ancient ‘ashtar’ (or ‘eight strings’ in the Persian language).

 

The pear-shaped instrument is made up of six ribs of mulberry or apricot wood. The face board is made of soft pine. The neck is relatively short, with the fretless fingerboard glued to the front. The name, khushtar, is derived from the lark carved on the scroll – ‘khush’ meaning ‘bird’, and ‘tar’, ‘strings’. It has four strings stretched from four tuning pegs made of walnut wood, and another seven sympathetic strings on the side of the neck. The instrument is supported at the base with a movable foot. The bow is stretched with horsehair, and is not attached to the strings like the Chinese huqin family. In performance, the khushtar is placed on the left knee, and the left hand presses the strings while the right hand bows. The body of the instrument can swivel and turn to facilitate bowing. Alto and bass khushtar versions meet orchestration needs of the Uighur ensemble.

 

胡西它爾,維吾爾族拉弦樂器。「胡西它爾」,意為「悅耳的琴弦」。流行於新疆維吾爾自治區烏魯木齊等地。是上世紀七十年代初,由新疆藝術學校吐爾遜江參照古回鷅樂器「艾西塔爾」(波斯語,意為八根琴弦)妍製而成。

 

音箱呈梨形,用六塊桑木或杏木併合而成,面板用白松。琴頸較短,正面膠有指板,無品位。琴頭雕成百靈鳥形。設四個核桃木軸,張四條弦。琴頭一側另有七條共鳴弦。音箱底部有活動支架,用馬尾弓拉奏。演奏時,將琴豎置於左腿上,左手按弦,右手持弓在弦外拉奏。琴身可自由轉動,運弓方便。近年,又妍製成中音和低音胡四它爾,用於維吾爾族樂隊。

I am so proud of our first youngster!!!

Because 2-year-olds need perms, too.

This was in 1956. By the mid-1960s youths no longer considered the accordion a cool instrument to learn. How much of a cultural loss that may have been is debatable.
