► The storm of last Friday dumped 1158 rays in the region of Madrid, Spain, particularly among the eight in the afternoon and eleven at night. So I saw it!

Ceratostigma plumbaginoides is a low-growing herbaceous perennial with spreading roots, forming a mat of stems bearing oval leaves which turn red or purple in autumn.
I do likethis plumbaginoides as it behaves well as a ground cover plant; C. Wilmottianum is likewise blessed with these lovely blue flowers but is a much taller plant!
Clusters of rich blue flowers from late summer. These are in my neighbour's garden but she gave me some last summer after thinning out hers and they're doing well!
