2020 has been a difficult and devastating year for us all. Through the global pandemic we all felt the effects of this virus as one world. For the first time we have realized that we are all just the same. We all want to be happy and live our lives as peacefully as possible. We come to appreciate the small beautiful things in life.

I’m under no illusion this is going to happen in 2021:

-The Number 9 Coal Mine was opened in 1855 by the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company. It was the World’s Longest-Operating Coal Mine. The mine featured miles of tunnels and went as far as 800 feet below the surface. It produced a significant amount of anthracite coal from the Panther Valley’s Mammoth Vein in Carbon County, PA.

In 1972, the mine was officially closed. 1992, 20 years after closing for business, the Number 9 Coal Mine was opened for tours to those wanting to learn more about this industry that built Northeastern Pennsylvania. - (Source: Uncovering PA)
