Blue hour is nearing it's end with the stars coming out, and liked the lit up lighthouse against that backdrop. To keep the clouds and stars from really moving much, increases the ISO for this 30 second exposure.
The light and shadow from the fence line was pretty cool too.

I went to Peggy's Cove with the photo club and we had some fun light-painting and using colored gels on flashlights to light the lighthouse. For once I could actually walk away from my tripod and not worry about it blowing over. Most times I am there it is far too windy!

I was in my studio, trying to create some images for a book about lighting schemes I will publish. Wanting to create an image using split lighting I imagine a portrait with some mystical and intimate mood. I choose to use black and white in order to keep things as simple as possibile.
150271 crosses the River Don in the heart of Sheffield and passes some derelict industrial buildings some of which are finding new uses as gyms and meeting halls serving the community.
150271 was working the 1813 from Huddersfield.
This shot is a composite image. I was pushing the limits of low light photography, the two images are separated by only 12 minutes. I have only used the light plume from the street lamps from the second image. This has enabled me to maintain a low grain image with that lighting up feel. The last step was to darken the whole image by 1 stop.
Unusual lighting arrangement with white sheets to diffuse the light on the artwork of Mortimer Menpes at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Apparently this faithfully reproduces the way he used to light his exhibitions himself.
