In Gawler, folks walked round Pioneer Park and learned about the elements – soil, air, water, light – and then about poverty and inequality. The mayor of the town was also in attendance.

Berlin, 24. September 2015. Kurz vor der Verabschiedung der Globalen Ziele für nachhaltige Entwicklung machen Aktivisten weltweit in rund 200 Städten mit Lichtinstallationen vor und auf monumentalen Gebäuden auf die neuen Globalen Ziele der Vereinten Nationen aufmerksam, die morgen verabschiedet werden. Denn ob die Globalen Ziele erreicht werden, hängt maßgeblich von ihrer Bekanntheit ab. Nur wenn die Ziele bekannt sind, kann Druck auf die Politik gemacht werden, diese zu erreichen. Die Ziele beinhalten unter anderem die Beendigung von Armut und Hunger, die Stärkung von Gesundheitssystemen, die Gleichstellung der Geschlechter und den Kampf gegen den Klimawandel. Aktionen finden u.a. anderem in Paris, London, New York, Moskau, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Sidney, Rio de Janeiro und Neu Delhi statt. Die Idee stammt vom Kampagnenbündnis action/2015; der gemeinsame Hashtag lautet #LightTheWay
