Straight from the camera. Done in collaboration with missmoody and helmut_rec who kindly invited us to shoot at this cool spot on the roof. It was a fun evening!
We'd like to dedicate this shot to missmoody's grandfather who passed away last Saturday, rest in peace, you are dearly missed.
Straight from the camera. Got a cool new laser toy, so immeditely had to go test it into the basement! :D
One of the really great things about the world pf lightpainting is being able to collaborate with other lightpainters in the dark. Last night was no exception where myself, Tim G and Tom Hill assembled at the Chee Tor Tunnel No.1 in the Derbyshire Peak District.
The usual routine for these collaborations is for one person to create a lightpainting image and the others present help where needed in replacing lens caps or waving lights in the dark.
I went first on the evening and this is what I bagged (and without too many attempts either)
Straight from the camera. No post editing of anykind. 11 minutes of exposure.
Being a bit imsomniac again, luckily there's always light painting! :)
playing around at home with some sticks and a blade.. sooc although it would need some contrast.. :P
Fibre optic lightpainting combined with freehand camera rotation, a lens and tripod swap then a kinetic pan of the camera. All shot in one exposure. It did take a few attempts to get the damn thing lined up!
Mom always told me I should never play with fire, you might get burnt,
She was always right

Light Painting / Long Exposure
Vazon beach, Guernsey
A light painting that I created for a bespoke commission last year. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the work is used once it is finally rolled out by the Company.

An evening stood in a old dark railway tunnel with a new toy which turns out to be quite good for light painting with. Shot in one photographic exposure as usual
A long overdue evening under the Derbyshire Peak District with Tim G with camera rotation and steel wool faffery. All shot in one continuous photographic exposure
Straight from the camera.

"Through the waters of beauty and grace. We will one day dock at the same port, and give rest to our weary heads" (The Umbrellas: Ships)
(This is one of my all time favourite songs, and immediately thought of it upon painting)
Snow Day Today. The whole country pretty much stopped and had a big hissy fit because noone could get anywhere or do anything (IN LONDON). I had a reading day so it didn't much matter to me. I'm in tomorrow though. I also have plans for after University so I hope the weather isn't too bad. I'll be taking my camera, maybe you will see what I got up to. Oh the mystery. The weather was good for Rosie, who has Aaron visiting her from NC, I was happy for her having a short day so they could be together :]
utdesertduo commented on my wallpaper. It's textured, and painted white so it's pretty good for light painting upon. This is an oldie but goodie. I keep procrastinating, saying I'll paint new shapes or get new material to post up here.. I'm totally aware I need to do this, I need a plan of action, and to get my ass into gear.
I'm glad I have three comments within five minutes of posting.
Thanks go to snowbuddy_, utdesertduo and of course, DavidStGr
P.S: I'm still hanging on in Explore.
160 mile round trip tonight to catch that ever so brief moment at dusk when its light enough to capture the scenery but dark enough to do a bit of orb spinning! I'd waited about an hour for the moment to arrive and at the same time as that brief 5-10 minute window it decided to start raining! Brilliant!
Me doing the business, but taken using the Awry Hermit's camera on the night my old 350D went on the blink.
Cheers mate :-)
Straight from the camera.
Done in collaboration with missmoody.
Had to go back to shoot more of this wrecked car... Too bad it was a bit too bright night sky for long exposures, would've liked this more with better contrasts.
Another trawl through my hard drive trying to make more space only to find another shot worthy of throwing on the internet. White balance adjusted for a metallic blue feel
The realisation that you need to get out more with a camera when you're sat at your desk on a Tuesday night in the dark, shooting a fibre optic brush with a radioactive Russian Helios 44 lens.....

Straight from the camera. Filming our light painting documentary in an abandoned (and ironically burned down) old match factory with ninjawhispers , hhuhtamo and pparvi . Check out more of my photos at www.jannepaint.com.

Straight from the camera. The weird beam effect on the left side of the figure was made by throwing plaster dust into the air and pointing the laser to it... I don't know if it worked out so fine, but it got my clothes messed up pretty damn nicely! :D
