Met some friends for dinner tonight. This was the light fixture in the stall in the ladies' room. You know I'm never without a camera... heh
I drove by this lighting store the other night and had to stop and take a picture. It's not that I found any particular fixture apealing it's just I couldn't imagine anyone going in and figuring out what it was they needed.
Movie night at the old Orchestra Hall in Lakeside, the charming summer resort with only a handful of year-round residents. The pizza parlor was open, so we had dinner there before the move. There were nine people in the audience -- a big crowd for a Friday night in November.

July 3 - PhotoChallenge: Light Fixture
I have this gorgeous old chandelier in my dining room. On the one hand, I love it because it is original to the house and the glass is gorgeous, yet, on the other hand, it drives me crazy because it's a bitch to clean and it doesn't give off enough light and we go through a tonne of light bulbs because it burns them out so fast. Today, I saw this fixture in a whole new light and took some really neat pictures of all the nooks and crannies and this gorgeous crystal ball right in the center. I really do love this chandelier.
Many rooms had their original light fixtures.
I went to an estate sale at this awesome house.. once a farmhouse.. now surrounded by apartments. Very beautiful place, inside and out.
if you stare at this image, do you notice the weird white dots that appear at the intersections of the dark lines...this is some optical illusion that i learned about in some vision class but have since forgotten the cause of.
My attempt at home improvement. As it turned out, my fiddling with this light fixture was not the issue. There was a short in the other room cause the problems

Last night I went to Sydney to visit a friend who I hadn't seen for more than a decade. She was staying at the Grace Hotel on York Street.
This place is lovely. Everything is Art Deco which is my absolute favourite architectural and decorating style. My favourite building is The Chrysler in New York and it is Art Deco. It's just a stunning period in Architecture.
I wanted to go crazy taking photos of all the fixtures in the hotel but we were so pushed for time that I only took one.
I think I might just have to go stay there one night so I can take pics of it.
