I spotted this nest of tree ferns from the other direction on my hike, but the fog was too thick. As I returned , the sun began to push through and burn the fog off to give a litlle more light and definition to the scene.

Thank you Ben for posing with me.. Hugs

Have a great week friends!

All along the Maine coast you can here the sailors calling out "Fog's lifting" signaling another beautiful day for sailing.

Fingers crossed the lifting of lockdown goes as planned. Looking forward to seeing family in the gardens or going out for walks together. Lets hope the roll out keeps on track. Take care everyone.

I caught this Black-headed Gull as it lifts off from the water at a local nature reserve. I particularly like the way it's looking skywards in this shot.

I find chair lifts sort of simultaneously fascinating and terrifying...

The 1500 Hamilton Yard job picks up the interchange with a nice trio of GP9s.

This angle from Gage Ave is one I've been trying for for a bit. It's not every day the 1500 lifts the interchange (in fact I think its tends toward being uncommon). What helped significantly was the one crew member heading back into the cab while I got my shots, I'm not 100% sure if he did that so I could get my shots or if it was coincidence but I greatly appreciate it if it was intentional. After this they'd haul everything west, and eventually back into the yard.

Captured this with three RAW shots at -2..0..+2 EV. Digital blending in Photoshop CS6. I increased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. Topaz DeNoise to reduce noise.

Cormorant makes an exit

A beautiful kingfisher lifting up out from the water with its bounty catch from the water below, its always stunning to watch these hard working skilful colourful birds of the river.

To most this is just a photo of a kestrel but for me it marks the start of an exciting journey. So good to see her again.

The Anderton Boat Lift is one of only two working boat lifts in the UK and is affectionately known as the Cathedral of the Canals.

Designed by Edwin Clark in 1875 to transfer boats and barges between the River Weaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal across a height of 50 feet. It was in operation for over 100 years until it closed in 1983 due to corrosion. However, it opened to the public again in 2002 after a huge renovation project began in 2001.
