Nate and Eduardo have been working on a YUI 3-based component library for Liferay, which they've released as AlloyUI (http://AlloyUI.com). They stopped by for a visit with the YUI Team to talk about their work.
After some fiddling i now manage to store data structurally in Liferay's structures, and lift it to the website using Velocity templates.

Things on my desk today...
RAY BREWING CO. Mug
Today I received a free cup from Liferay. Ray is our little internal mascot that appears on random apparel and swag.
Ray Pin
My buddy, Bryan (A.K.A BHo), today also gave me that super sweet Ray pin. He tried to be do that secret hand off thing to me as I walked by, but unfortunate for him I was super not smooth and thought he was just poking my hand. #fail.
SOLID
Michelle came by my desk today to drop off some beans Kev picked up for me. Currently my fav beans for cold brew, Solid Coffee Roaster's Brazil Oberon. Chocolate and nutty, smells great.
Hydro Flask
My fav little 12oz insulated thermos mug... I love this thing.
Hand Coffee Bean Grinder
I recently started using a hand coffee bean grinder to get more consistent grinds. I don't have a fancy smancy $200 electric burr grinder so getting good consistent course grinds (cold brew) and fine grinds (espresso) was difficult. This little hand burr grinder does a great job, love it.
Cold Brew maker (glass container + metal micron filter)
This thing I backed on Kickstarter to only later find out it's one of many cold brew makers on amazon. It looks like a repackage and rebranding. Can't complain though, it gets the job done.

January 29th - Day 29
Tunes: 'The Victory' by Number One Gun (goo.gl/vAXxuG).
Today I was fortunate to start a bit later and also work from home. Unfortunately though, it was due to having late meetings and being on the verge of sickness. I spent the afternoon preparing and the the early evening meeting individually with people from my team in China. I had to split the communication into two groups due to a scheduling conflict with some of the team. Fortunately, that meant that I was able to eat dinner with Carrie and also make it out to Monday night basketball.
Carrie went to pick up some Rubio's Bacon and Shrimp burritos (by now you know that's one of our staples for healthy living haha) and had it ready when I was done with my first group. I was planning on only eating half since I was going to play ball. My will was weak and I finished the entire burrito which I later regretted.
Played on the Liferay team again and had a good time. I felt very sluggish partly due to being tired and on the verge of sickness, and partly due to that huge burrito in my stomach. We ended up winning both games. I didn't do too great, threw the ball away a few times. I also almost hit a spectator in the head. And of course I missed a ton. All in all, it was good taking a break and moving around.
Got home and then finished the rest of the meetings. Finished shortly after midnight, which isn't too bad.
Sleep time. G'night.
