Yes, really, we do have a shop called 'Blond'! Are you surprised, this is Holland, the home of the 2-meter Blondes?! ;D

Mr.P, looking all stylish :)

I was just snapping away, a bit drunk already (&VERY high on paint+terpentine, hahaha ;) and didn't even notice this pic until much later, when I reviewed my wicked day on my PC's big screen...I guess the pretty people of Amsterd@m always look cool, even if they don't try :)

P.s. Sometimes I wonder where the titles for my pics come from, it seems that the little people from the Photo department of my brain sit around a lot with the little people from the Music department, having beers, trying to find ways to combine their knowledge to supply the little Japanese engineers living inside my mobile phone with complete Flickr-posting-packages...wicked people they are...love you guys ;-)))

Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm having the Best Week Ever™!

First, I won a bike. Sure, it's not the best bike in the world and I prefer the three bikes I already own but still- I won it!

Then, if you're not on flickr all the time, you can find time for Craig's List and you might just score a polaroid camera and 2 packs of film for $20. Suh-weeeet!

And that's just the beginning:

Monday- Dinner out with out of town friend at awesome new Thai restaurant.

Tuesday- 8 hour round trip with a car full of food lovers to a farm in the country where they make wood fired pizzas with wheat they grow and mill themselves. (more on this later...)

Wednesday- Later today I get to be a judge in a local cooking contest, which is like going to the best potluck ever.

Thursday- Who knows what Thursday has in store for me...

Friday- Going to see She & Him with a flickr friend.

Saturday- Finally, finally getting to go to the Great Taste of the Midwest, a fab beer fest that I've never managed to get tickets for.

And to think that this week last year I was laid up on the couch with a sprained ankle...

Unedited shot of a biker in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)

My last weekend was near perfect, it lasted for 4 days, it was perfect weather, and I've spent lots of quality time with awesome people, so imagine my shock when I found out the Monday after, that I'll have to work this Friday, my usual day off! I'm actually trembling and also crying like a baby as I write this, so hurt is my delicate little, fluffy soul by the insult of an idea to make me get up at 6 in the morning, bike 10 kilometers and spend the whole day working? It's inhuman, that's what it is, and nobody should have to suffer like this...oh, wait, I just realized that most of my colleagues do this every week, all year long, all their lives...how the hell do they do it? And why?! Ah well, I'll console myself with the thought that I'll be off next week Thursday and Friday to make up for this horrible thing that has overpowered me, called a full working week, lol ;-D

P.s. If you're thinking now 'Well, I work 5 days a week, every week, and you don't see me rolling around on the floor with a snotty nose, crying like a baby over it!', I can only say, you must be some kind of superhuman, while I, as I have mentioned, am the proud owner of a delicate little, fluffy and easily upset soul, hahaha :D

Thank God it's Friday, I'm so going to try to get reallyreally drunk tonight!

Unedited shot of tourists eating fries in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)

The tourists come to Amsterdam for many reasons (Sex, Drugs and Rock'n Roll), one of them are the delicious fries that you can eat in the best city in the world. If they're unlucky enough, they might show up in one of my puddle pictures while enjoying their greasy, yummie snack. These ladies were clearly not distracted enough by all the fat pumping through their veins after consuming their Patatje and discovered that I was shooting them, even though I was mostly submerged in the puddle...I guess I'll have to try harder the next time, lol ;-D

Everybody was looking at me when I was doing my reflection thing...and now they're on the Internet, ha! ;-))

The lovely Miss C is chilling out on a tree hanging over the water in the Vondelpark, in the best city in the world :))

Today was a perfect Spring day...until about an hour ago, the blue sky got cloudy and it rained hailed a bit but I guess that was only to protect our hearts&minds from exploding from an overdose of all the sheer joy&fun of spending such a lovely day in such a lovely city, lucky us :D

Have a great Good Friday, enjoy yourself before somebody else does it for you, hehe ;-))

Strolling along the Waterfront

couldn't help the vintage process to add to the romance.

Taken at Mady's birthday party yesterday. Kealy's such a cutie. Cake and ice cream is all you need to keep the youngsters happy! When kids are happy, parents are happy too!

Slightly edited shot of a biker in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing besides some fiddling with contrast and saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)

This Summer could have been a Paradise for wicked Reflectahs, with the daily rain, the unbelievable amounts of water pouring down on the best city in the world and the giant wet spots all over the place, but unfortunately it takes a lot more than water in the streets to shoot wicked reflections. The most important thing besides the proper light, shadow and angle, is to make sure that there are plenty of the talented tiny puddle people present, who draw those awesome images onto the surface of the water with the light of speed and really tinytiny brushes. Or did you really think that water reflections can look as exciting as they appear on my Flickr stream without the help of little wicked wizards and their magic powers? And all they ask in return for their services is a pack of these little cocktail-umbrellas, that always try to poke your eye out when you leave them in the glass while drinking, seems that they don't like getting wet either, lol :)

Have a wicked weekend :)

I've made a wicked reflection movie of this puddle too, check it out on my YouTube channel, thank you :)

FGR invades the "Complaint Department"

Honestly, she keeps me grounded. One look at that mug, what could I have to complain about?

This place used to be a popular stop for vacationers headed to the Smoky Mountains. They even had their own Teddy Bear Restaurant that you can see in the background. Not sure what happened to it but the Teddy Bear was abandoned when I drove up on it in 2012 and is in really tough shape these days. Whittier,North Carolina. 10.8.2012.

A good day to walk the gardens :-)

Old Orchard Beach, Maine on Christmas Eve. A foggy delight... =)

Wow Dude, do you see those colors?! Haha ;-D

I walked by a shop on the Leidsestraat and thought there was a real lady standing there so I went back and took a shot...I think I need glasses ;-))

We got some great directions from the shop where we rented two Santa Cruz Superlights. Awesome singletrack on the Colorado Trail. This is a 500 mile trail that we had ridden a section of several years ago in Durango. Super fun 20+ mile ride with an awesome descent that ended just north of Breckenridge.

I saw this painting standing in the street, I would've loved to take it home with me but it was HUGE and didn't fit on my bike...I'm also pretty sure that the blue Dude would freak me out if I look at him long enough ;-)

1960s VW Westfalia, double rack and vintage Nordkapp Kayak.

There's a fair on the Dam square with lots of dangerous looking rides...I think these people are suicidal, I was standing underneath that thing for some shots and I kept thinking 'What if there's some loose screw and they get catapulted into one of the beautiful buildings on the Dam?!'...happens all the time!

Here's a similar shot, taken one year later!

P.s. I did not use any special software or such for the blurry sun reflection effects, this is just what my mobile makes out of sun rays, lucky me, haha :)

This is Mr.K, the Application Warrior, standing in the light ray of a beamer...it beams the display of a PC on a big screen...unless you hold your head between beamer and screen ;-P
