1-29-2010. The Great Willie Nelson comes to The Forum in Rome, GA. It had been a very lean few months for Klemper and Me. The counting of every penny and we passed over the holidays that year to save money. Klemper comes home with one ticket to see Willie...for me...an early birthday present. It's for you, your birthday, go see your favorite star he says. And I cried. I was so overwhelmed with this wonderful man I am lucky enough to call my husband. I cried and I went to see Willie. Rushing to get ready and not be late...I was a complete mess by now. In less than one hour I was going to see and hear Willie sing! A lifetime of happiness rolled into one small ticket. Given so freely and tied with love. Even poor, life IS Good!

becomes extrodinary when done to the sounds of summer, warm breezes, birds tweeting and bright sunshine.

Maine, the way life should be.

"He was in love with life as an ant on a summer blade of grass."

- Ben Hecht

"Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability."

- Sam Keen

I’m sitting out and the birds are singing - who needs Netflix….

I had the most amazing opportunity to sit down with Nas, to shoot a portrait. Crazy thing is I literally had ONE shot. Nas was in a huge rush due to schedule conflicts, but stood for one quick studio shot for me. He apologized and said i hope you got something there. His new album "life is good" will be in stores soon

Pretty happy with it.

While riding in the back of a taxi in St. Johns, we saw the back side of the roof light and enjoyed the statement - Life is good. www.lifeisgood.com

I saw this doll head impaled on the hanger-hook of a car and had to think of Chuckie, the evil doll...she's probably his sister :)

When someone smiles and they really mean it they smile with their eyes.

It's been an amazing summer so far...

I've met so many people who have opened up to me and given me the opportunity to photograph them.

It's changed the way I look at people.

I'm having such a good time with the camera.

The connections are amazing.

Playing with my Lensbaby a little bit. This thing is HARD!

I have tea every afternoon, sometimes several cups, depending on the state of my day and the temperature in my office (it can be freezing!). I finally decided a while back that if I'm going to drink all that tea, I should probably try to make some of it be better for me. This is my favorite tea mug at home.

...loving life or should I say the duck poo he found to roll in :-)

I love to cook so much. Making food for my family is such a wonderful thing. Feeding them and hearing that they love the flavor of what I have prepared is such a beautiful feeling all around. My daughter shows a huge interest in cooking and I encourage her no matter how big the mess - it makes me so happy to see her (hopefully) following in my footsteps and cooking on a daily basis someday. For me!

This is the guitar belonging to Barley's owner. I have one more shot of the guitar left to upload.

Good news! I have replaced my D300. I also upgraded some of my lenses. I got the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and I'm on my way to pick up a Tokina 11-16 2.8. Also replaced my Crumpler bag and memory card. My replacement remote, camera strap and tripod parts are on the way. And, for fun, I picked up a used Vivitar 135mm macro lens. It's manual focus, but it was cheap and I think it will be fun to play with.

While I can't exactly say that life is good, it is starting to look up.

Ahhhh ... sitting in the sun enjoying a cookie and chai latte. Life is good.
