In this rebuild, the main issue was the corroded soft metal of the adjusters, which were not unscrewable and snapped off when removed, leaving the threaded half inside the wire guide fixing.
First we got some new Frame Mount Cable Adjusters, and measured their thread size and diameter with a caliper and Tap and Die Set, and used a battery powered drill with a matching diameter bit.
Secondly we removed what remained inside the thread, creating a now non threaded hol, leaving enough space for the new adjusters to screw in.
Lastly. we created a new thread with the Tap and Die Set for them. Then the new adjusters easily screwed in!
If you have this issue, it is possible to but clip on cable guides, and cable kits with their own suspended adjusters as part of the cable!
