Our open house was a huge success. Here are a few of our pictures from our event. We had our librarian doing a demo on #lifehacks about Halloween. We have 4-H representatives and Defy leaders (Drug education for youth) which is the military equivalent to DARE. There were bounce houses, face painting, an intro to our new 4-H online registration system, free giveaways, and surveys on youth afterschool needs needs. We had a hugely successful event with 114 patrons not including staff and volunteers :)

Well, the general tendancy for people to make up horrible words containing the suffix 'hack' is stupid. 'Lifehack' is just a ripe example of that trend, especially when applied to ridiculously idiotic things, like brushing your hair in the morning. HAIRHACK!

i put a water bottle in the freezer too long and it completely froze up, so i turned jarvis over and put it beside his belly to thaw out. dogs are useful!

De ZZP BV Roadshow, deze keer neer gestreken in de Oude Viltfabriek in Amersfoort ontving Arien Kruyt, Wethouder Cultuur in Amersfoort. Hij vertelde over zijn eigen ervaringen als ZZP-er, al noemde men dat in zijn tijd 'eenpitters'. In zijn carriere als ZZP-er kende hij 3 fases: Als eenling aan de weg timmerend, aansluiting zoekend bij een grotere organisatie en samen optrekkend met andere ZZP-ers met aanvullende disciplines. Met name in de samenwerking met andere zelfstandigen schuilt volgens Kruyt de kracht. Het biedt je de mogelijkheid om als eenpitter ook grotere projecten aan te nemen.

Sam van Buuren (SamBam) gaf aansluitend op het vraaggesprek met de wethouder en andere ZZPBV partners een workshop over het opzetten van een virtueel kantoor met behulp van veelal gratis beschikbare webapplicaties. Parrallel hieraan gaf Niels Zelle van communicatiebureau Zelle & Zo een workshop ' Effectief Gesprek'. Kern van deze workshop: Hoe zorg je er op een leuke manier voor dat jouw doelstellingen voor het gesprek worden gerealiseerd. En hoe bouw je een goed verkoopgesprek op.
