I love these sidewalk lending libraries. Saw this one today and had Brent drive around the block to get this snap.

There seems to be an endless variety of music played on CKUA radio station programs throughout every day, and when you see the library, you will understand why. There are rows upon rows of records, CD's and other mediums that showcase the long history of music that we enjoy.
I also actually shot this a while back and thought that I would upload it to Flickr.
This is one amazing place to visit when in Adelaide. The best part about it is that it is completely open to the public and photographers!!!! When the security guard came up to me rather than kicking me out he offered to show me around other part of the library for other places to photograph.
The oldest continuously functioning library for university academics and students in the world – the historic Merton Mob Library, dating from 1373, at Oxford University.
The Carnegie Library in Mitchell was built in 1903. The building was purchased by the Mitchell Area Historical Society in 2006 and it now houses the historical society and the local genealogical society.
The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and the largest library in the world by number of items catalogued. In the backgrouns is the roof of St. Pancras International, the home of Eurostar.

A mosaic by Elihu Vedder of the Roman Goddess Minerva in the second floor, East Corridor.
Minerva was the Goddess of learning and wisdom.
The North Street building with its distinctive copper dome surmounted a bronze statue by Thomas Clapperton, entitled Literature, often referred to as Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, opened in 1911. The architectural competition for the library's design took place in 1906 and was won by William B. Whitie. The Edwardian Baroque building is protected as a category B listed building.[2]

This is a corner of the library at the Sonnenberg Mansion, I could imagine myself sitting at this desk writing letters with a dip pen.
I enjoyed painting the warm colors of the woodwork; the color of the wood changes dramatically depending on the lighting. The glossy varnish reflects the light from the window so some areas of the wood are almost the same color as the window. The other colors of the desk range from deep orange and dark browns. There were stacks of white chairs for a wedding party outside of the window but I completely edited them out, it’s important to remove the distracting elements.
The globe was a fun object to paint, I wanted to handle it in a painterly manner. The base is a dark oval with a touch of white for the highlight. It’s interesting how a small touch of white can create the illusion of glossiness.
