Lijiang..............my fifth destination at Yunnan.

The numerous canals crossed by 350 small bridges has earned Lijiang, Yunnan, China, the title "Oriental Venice".

I took this photo in Lijiang, China quite a while ago when I first visited there. It's a quaint little town that has that "old China" feel to it. Unfortunately, not long after this, a lot of the town burned in a massive fire that ripped through the mostly-wooden buildings. And no, I was not the one that burned it down so no one else can take photos there. Although that would make for a great evil photographer... to take a photo of something cool and then destroy it.

Old Town.

The local king or ruler of the Naxi people resided here in the old days.

It belongs to the old quarter which are part of UNESCO World Heritage.

This is one of my favorite streets in Lijiang, China. Not too long after I took this photo, most of the ancient town burned down, which is pretty sad! I don't know if this particular street was in the blaze or not... have not been back but I would like to go see.
