“Miracles appear in the strangest of places …

Your presence is welcome with me and my friend[s] here …

I'll bet you've seen things in your time”

Willie Nelson, Yesterday’s Wine

Leveraged a version that I did a few years back, with a bit of a twist. Hope everyone is having a great weekend and Happy Easter. Happy Easter Slider Sunday - HESS!

Brake lever, seen on an old school motorbike.

An invitation Gav and myself could not refuse was to visit the inside of Par box. We spent 30 mins in excellent company and were thoroughly educated in the workings of this fine building.

An Amtrak Lincoln Service train heads west/south at Brighton Park Crossing in Chicago, passing the levers that controlled the famous semaphores at this junction until 2008.

The Leveraged Freedom Chair is a chair propelled by hand levers that's in development at MIT. It's compact, has adjustable speeds and a K-Mart price tag.

The prototype above handles both bad roads and cramped offices. The full story is here:

One of the levers from the historic Mills Interlocking Tower in Iowa Falls, Iowa. This tower was replaced with a automated system in 1993 and was bought and left in place by the Iowa Falls, Iowa Historic Society. Thanks to Larry Stirler and Dave Kroger for inviting me out there for the open house last weekend.

Carlos totally lost it. He plans to use us as leverage to get out of Hex.

He even killed Diva when she got in his way.

I don't know if he knew she was a robot. Or whether it would have mattered if she was not.

We are now on our way to the core. Carlos thinks he has found a way out ...

Down the elevator ... through the nest ... with us as bait ...

Leverage

makes the world go 'round.

It is the grease in the markets.

It is the strength to impose your will.

Freedom's trajectory

spans the planet,

whether all want it or not.

The arc or heaven rests

on American commerce.

Village Green, San Ramon, CA. The waxwing uses its levered tongue to help position and swallow the berry.

As part of the Heritage Open Days weekend the Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership arranges for Haltwhistle station and signal box to be opened to the public. With guided tours of the site the event seemed to be attracting quite a few visitors to the historic station.

The 1901 built signal box is no longer used to control traffic on the line but the levers remain in place in what was, at it's peak, an 85 lever frame, controlling the junction between the Tyne Valley line and the Alston branch.
