Die Leutaschklamm im Karwendel
Ein schönes Erlebnis, unterhalb der Gaststätte Ederkanzel sind wir zur Leutaschklamm hinabgestiegen und haben sie durchwandert.
Auf dem Weg zur Klamm stehen am Wegesrand Tafeln, die die Sagengeschichten vom Klammgeist und den Kobolden erzählen.
Der Weg durch die Klamm ist gut gesichert, festes Schuhwerk und wärmere Kleidung ist empfehlenswert da es in der Klamm kühler und feucht ist.

A beautiful experience, below the restaurant Ederkanzel we descended to the Leutaschklamm and walked through it.
On the way to the gorge, there are signs along the way telling the tales of the ghost of the gorge and the goblins.
The path through the gorge is well secured, sturdy shoes and warmer clothing are recommended as it is cooler and damp in the gorge.

Le Leutaschklamm à Karwendel
Une belle expérience, sous le restaurant Ederkanzel, nous sommes descendus au Leutaschklamm et l'avons parcouru.
Sur le chemin de la gorge, il y a des panneaux le long du chemin qui racontent les histoires du fantôme de la gorge et des gobelins.
Le chemin à travers la gorge est bien sécurisé, des chaussures solides et des vêtements plus chauds sont recommandés car il fait plus frais et humide dans la gorge.

Der älteste erschlossene Steig in der Leutaschklamm ist der Wasserfallsteig. Schon seit über 130 Jahren ist dieser Teil der Leutaschklamm begehbar. Am Mittenwalder Klammkiosk geht es in den Sommermonaten hinein in die Leutaschklamm. Dabei führen die hölzernen Planken nur wenige Meter über dem Wasser rund 200 Meter in die Leutaschklamm. Der Wasserfallsteig ist damit das komplette Kontrastprogramm zu den modernen Konstruktionen, die den Rest der Leutaschklamm erschließen. Hier auf dem Wasserfallweg spürt man hautnah die Gewalt der Wassermassen. Nur wenige Meter von den Füßen entfernt, tanzen die Sprudel und Wasserfälle und die steilen Wände der Leutaschklamm werfen die Klänge des tosenden Wassers vielfach zurück.
Der noch immer ausbleibende Schnee lies uns heute einen Ausflug in die Leutasch unternehmen.
Wikipedia nennt diesen Ort ein "Hochtal, das sich über 16 km von der Hohen Munde nach Nordosten am Wettersteingebirge entlang erstreckt und in der Leutaschklamm endet, die bei Mittenwald die Grenze zu Deutschland bildet. Umrahmt wird das Tal von weiteren markanten Gipfeln wie dem Hochwanner, der Dreitorspitze und der Arnspitze. Das Tal ist eine große, von eiszeitlichen Gletschern geformte Felswanne, gefüllt mit Schotter und Seesedimenten. Es wird von der Leutascher Ache durchflossen. Das Gaistal führt zwischen Wetterstein und Mieminger Gebirge nach Westen zur Ehrwalder Alm.
Leutasch ist nach Süden vor dem warmen Föhn geschützt und nach Norden vor der Kälte durch den Wetterstein. Vom Westen her haben Schneewolken durch das Gaistal leichten Zugang. Dadurch ist die Leutasch sehr schneesicher, bei gleichzeitig mildem Sommerklima." (Stimmt!!! :-)))
Über 20 Jahre seines Lebens verbrachte der Dichter und Schriftsteller Ludwig Ganghofer hier.Wer dessen Romane gelesen hat, glaubt schon beim ersten Besuch der Gegend, sich hier gut auszukennen und heimisch zu fühlen.
Die Leutascher Kirche, am Kirchplatzl gelegen, steht direkt neben dem Ganghofer Museum. (Da hier offenbar nicht allzu oft Besucher herkommen, ist es gleichzeitig die Grundschule des Dorfes.)

Man I have been away from Flickr for quite a while. Between holidays, lots of overtime at work, a recent multi-day conference I went to in Florida, and then being sick I haven't had much time for my hobby. Things should finally calm down and I can catch up on pictures and go on adventures. I hope I to go snowshoeing soon, weather permitting. Not sure where, so if you have suggestions let me know!

Leutaschklamm Wasserfallsteig, Mittenwald, Germany
The Leutaschklamm Geisterklamm/ Wasserfallsteig are accessed from either Schanz in Austria (where there's an official parking area) or from Mittenwald, Germany (where you can park somewhere in town and then find a trail that will lead you to the main route). It is a really beautiful area, one could easily spend days, or weeks in this part of Germany/Austria. If we had had more than 2 days in southern Bavaria, we would have done a lot more exploring.
This here is the entrance that goes into the gorge, you walk on the platform hugging the sides of the sheer rockface, watching that glacial blue water stream past, and then after a quick walk (it's not very long at all) you see a lovely little waterfall. While the whole rest of the hike is free (except parking), this section is privately owned and you pay at the nearby cafe a few euros to go in. So worth it!
The Leutasch Gorge is located in Austria, but is only accessible from Germany.

The Leutasch Gorge (German: Leutaschklamm or Leutascher Geisterklamm) is a gorge near Mittenwald and Unterleutasch in the Bavarian-Tyrolean border area through which the Leutascher Ache river flows. With a total length of 1,650 metres it is the longest accessible gorge in the Eastern Limestone Alps.
(wiki) - Das Leutaschtal, auch die Leutasch genannt, ist eine Region im Gemeindegebiet von Leutasch in Nordtirol, 20 Kilometer nordwestlich von Innsbruck, an der bayerischen Grenze bei Mittenwald.
Das Tal erstreckt sich am Mittellauf der Leutascher Ache, die aus dem Gaistal (Übergang nach Ehrwald) von Westen kommt, und dessen Nebenlauf, dem Ostbach, der von Südwesten vom Katzenloch aus der Telfer Gegend kommt, zieht sich nach Nordosten und endet an der Leutaschklamm bei Mittenwald.

The Leutaschklamm is one of the newest (and oldest) attractions on the Seefeld plateau.
The 3000 m long Spirit Gorge Trail runs for part of the way on a daring 800 m man-made section. At the various stops along the way, the Spirit of the Gorge has all kinds of mysteries and secrets to tell us about his realm. The 1900 m Goblin Trail leads from the Mittenwald Gorge kiosk, past glacier-polished rock into Leutasch Gorge. At the individual stations, the goblins tell us about the geology and the various rocks in Leutasch Gorge and about the effect of the glaciers during the Ice Age. At the end of the gorge near Mittenwald, the 200 m waterfall trail leads deep down into the Leutasch Gorge and finishes at a 23-meter-high waterfall (this photo).

Die Leutaschklamm ist eine gewaltige Felsenschlucht, die zum Teil in Deutschland und zum Teil in Österreich liegt. Schmale, an den Felsen hängende Stege, führen durch die schmale Schlucht zu einem 23 m hohen Wasserfall (siehe Foto). Seit 2006 gibt es neben einem alten Zugang auf bayerischer Seite noch einen grenzüberschreitenden Weg. Dieser ist sehr komfortabel mit Stahlsteigen, Panoramabrücken und Betonwegen angelegt. In Anlehnung an eine alte Sage, nach der in der Klamm ein Geist oder Kobold gelebt hat, nennt sich der neue Weg Klammgeistweg.
Der Felsen links könnte direkt ein Portrait des Kobolds sein :-)
