I was never a "dog person" until my mother died. I never really thought that a living thing could be this sweet, kind and thoughtful...even more than what humans could offer (sometimes).
We had a dog for around 16 years until his time was finally over last Wednesday. He helped us get through the toughest and hardest times in our lives. I hope that we showed him the same love and concern or, otherwise, he would not had lived that long. He was like a family to us. He always walked beside my mother every time she had her yearly vacation with us. Now, I can imagine them walking side by side in the after life (if there is such a place).
I managed to #draw these #doodles of him when he was still strong and agile...oh he was such a fast runner during the prime of his life...and he will never be forgotten.

Someone once said that "if you want to test a man's character, give him power."
It's interesting that this phrase uses the word "character". Also, the word "power" could mean a lot of things. Nevertheless, I believe that as long as we practice humility, we could possibly get some sort of a "benefit of a doubt" even though we tend to get carried away with what we have and we could control (sometimes).
This is one of my new Leuchtturm1917 sketchbook quick studies (Rooney Mara inspired) about human emotions.

"No one ever told me that #grief felt so like #fear.”
I spent several times walking & passing by the #streets of #Intramuros with someone whose strength & perseverance I so admire. He was like a "big brother" to me as he guided me through my College years in #Manila. I would always look up to him...especially now that he is already in heaven- may he "Rest In Peace"
Above #quote may not seem to be an appropriate description for this piece, but it is...because the reason for the delay of this piece is grief...and I'm so scared right now as I realized that every time I feel like things are going quite well in my life, suddenly, death happens...out of nowhere.

I remember walking around #Intramuros whenever I had a "free time" during the 4 years I lived there.
There were only a few of those "times" back then when one day, somehow, this #building in front of the #FortSantiago ticket booth caught my interest. Not only because I didn't have enough money left to pay for a ticket to get inside the actual Fort Santiago but, partly, because I found the red color of the shades combined with the cream color of the building quite artistic :)

I have a tendency to put things off that I actually enjoy doing, and thus turning them into something I ’have to‘ do. Journaling is one of those things – when it comes to writing down thoughts or sticking in photos, I often think ’Not now, I’ll do that later‘. This is something I have really been struggling with lately, since the right moment never really seems to come. I forget so many of the thoughts I have along the way, and the things I do remember and want to preserve all pile up until eventually I let the thought of having to take care of them go, and come back to them only when I really feel like it. Two days ago was one of those days, and so I spent most of it catching up on my entire journal, sticking things that were flying around in it for so long where they belong, typewriting quotes I want to remember and adding words I only wrote on my computer when I thought I didn’t have the time to do it by hand. I haven’t gotten lost in the memories in my journal for so long, and focusing completely on it with nothing else on my mind turned out to be very soothing and inspiring. I never want to let go of this feeling and motivation, and yet I always do.
P.s. Flickr notes are back and I've missed them and I added a few here (hover over the photo). :)
Felt like I needed a break from thinking or "overthinking"...so this is what I came up with this weekend...
