This is the town hall of Maastricht (Limburg, the Netherlands). It was build in the 17th century and has a height of 47m. It is considered a nice example of Dutch Baroque architecture.
The mole of Carnon and behind the open and very rough sea. It was quite stormy that day and at the end of the day, the sun came out, giving these wave a nice colour.
The monasteries of Meteora, Greece, are built on rocks reaching up to heaven. This is the Agia Triada Monastery, which was used as filmset for the James Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only".
Until sunset it was quite busy at the road around the Meteora monasteries. Then, when the sun had set, (almost) everyone left and it was a special atmosphere, standing there, watching the artificial light getting brighter than the natural light. I could get some sense how the monks and nuns feel, when the real solitude comes. Some nuns went for a short evening walk on the street and greeted friendly. But almost every tourist was already far away, most of them in the village I guess.

In any case, the ability to shine. Each in its own way.
When I – at homeoffice, a bit bored – took a short look out the window on a rain-snow-day, I discovered the reflection of the lamp in the window. And since the bright yellow daffodils on my table looked so brightly at me, so I just clipped one of them to a chair and took this picture. You have to take a break from time to time ... ;-)

Als ich mal wieder – bei Heimarbeit, etwas gelangweilt – an einem Regen-Schnee-Tag kurz aus dem Fenster blickte, entdeckte ich die Spiegelung der Lampe im Fenster. Und da mich die leuchtend gelben Narzissen auf meinem Tisch so leuchtend ansahen, habe ich eine davon kurzerhand an einen Stuhl geklemmt und diese Aufnahme gemacht. Man muss ja auch mal eine Pause machen ... ;-)

Eine Grubenlampe ist eine Leuchte, die bei der Arbeit unter Tage eingesetzt wird. Jeder Bergmann hat seine „persönliche“ Grubenlampe. Nach der Schicht ist der Bergmann dafür verantwortlich, dass er üblicherweise selbst die Grubenlampe ordnungsgemäß zum Wiederaufladen in der Lampenstube in den beschrifteten Stellplatz in der Ladestation einsetzt, damit er zur nächsten Schicht wieder eine vollgeladene Grubenlampe zur Verfügung hat. Zum Schichtbeginn wird die Grubenlampe sofort angeschaltet und erst zum Schichtende an der Ladestation wieder abgeschaltet.
A miner's lamp is a lamp that is used when working underground. Every miner has his "personal" miner's lamp. After the shift, the miner is responsible for ensuring that he himself uses the miner's lamp properly for recharging in the labeled parking space in the charging station so that he has a fully charged miner's lamp available for the next shift. At the start of the shift, the miner's lamp is switched on immediately and only switched off again at the charging station at the end of the shift.
Nice green gardens. The flag is half mast due to this picture was taken at the Remembrance of the Dead day. At that day we commemorate the people who are victims in wars especially those in WOII.

This is the 'Berliner Dom' situated at the Museum Island in the centre of Berlin. Behind you see the illuminated television Tower at the Alexanderplatz and at the right side you can see the tower of the town hall, called Rotes Rathaus.
