Mumbai, formerly Bombay, is a fascinating place. I only had three days there and made use of a private guide to take me to all the key sites. The guest services staff at the Marriott hotel made the arrangements. This was the second planned stopover when traveling from Sydney to Istanbul. The first was in Singapore. The energy of Mumbai is at once exotic and hectic, with an emphasis on hectic. Having a personal guide really smoothed out the wrinkles. :o).

Unfortunately the DOF is super shallow, because this weevil was absolutely miniscule and I therefore had to use (reversed) 18mm.
Corfu is one of the most endearing places I have ever visited. Located in the Ionian Sea just off the northwest tip of Greece, it is at once beautiful, welcoming, and restful. I have made a few friends there and each of them in some way reminds me of Balki Bartokomous, that lovable character from the old sitcom "Perfect Strangers". The food on Corfu is worthy of a handwritten note to family back home. The island is cozy, unpretentious, and can be more than a little bit adventurous.
I have had a love affair with the Mediterranean and its islands for a long time; the Balearics, Majorca, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, Corfu, Crete. Of these, Corfu is a favorite. It is the very gentleness of the place that makes this so.
