I was working from several photos, one with very strong values. I started sketching it upside down but it wasn't going well, and then the hair! I started out much too dark and made a mess erasing. I left out the glasses and changed the hair from the photo, but you would never have recognized John Lennon anyway.
My sample sentences are usually pretty ridiculous. Totally unprepared for photographing flying birds at the Kilauea Point Lighthouse. ISO/SS should have been raised and VR turned off. It didn't help that the Z7II AF and tracking struggled. Of the many shots I took, only a few were decently sharp.
These are probably Laysan Albatrosses.

I set the ISO low since we were outside. Then I set the aperture to 5.6 so I would get more in focus. Finally I knew I needed the shutter to be high so I could capture the splashing water.
Last night we hand tied a floral bouquet - trust me, it's harder than it looks.

We learned some lessons on the first day.
1. Sit in the shade as much as possible
2. Don't go to day shows unless you are dying to see the act. It will be too hot to enjoy them otherwise
3. Kate and Claire NEED coffee in the morning. Don't try to deprive them of this. It will take them until late afternoon to reach maximum fun potential. Note how happy claire looks.

Various pics from this years lessons. Horse riding lessons severely curtailed this year still managed into the double figures despite the pandemic, being full time college and work .
