I took a few good shots for my annual birthday photo shoot this year, but this was not one of the ones I really thought I'd like. As usual, there was a quality about it I DID like, so I went to work on it. I did so much to this shot that I don't even know where to begin to explain how I arrived at the finished product! Suffice to say, it was a lot of work, but I did end up liking the result pretty much. I don't usually care for sepia much, but it worked well with the image, and I used some other tricks to give it a lot of tone and texture, so it wouldn't look like a flat sienna pic, or have no dimension. Sepia works for me WITH a lot of work.
AS you can see, I'm months (years) behind in editing stuff! This was from August. Maybe when I'm 95 I'll have most of them done, lol!
There is a trend on other social media for posting black and white photos of yourself. Many of them look great. I am not sure if a black and white photo adds something or takes something away from the colour original but it is certainly different.
So I thought I would find a photo I have not posted before and make a black and white image. Do you like it? Or do you prefer colour pics If you do like it, I may find some more original pictures and post in black and white. It will certainly make up for the lack of new pictures thanks to this lockdown.
Stay safe everyone, we will get through this. xx
So 2020 is coming to an end and like most people, it can be a time for reflection:
Although I have known that I was trans since I was a little child, I only started going out into the big wide world exactly 10 years ago this week.
This picture is from that first night out. I have nver published it before as it is not a great quality. However it is a record of a moment that changed my life. I met like-minded people who were great fun to be with. We went to a bar where the landlord was lovely to us and we drank and danced the night away until about 4am as if there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately there was a tomorrow and a felt rotten the next day at work! :-)
But that night showed me something different, something exciting and something which seemed very natural, It changed my life! I now wished I had done it earlier in my life.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and safe New Year. Let's all hope that 2021 is a better year and brings an end to this pandemic. I hope that I can post some more current photos next year as well!

I was going to post this a while back, but I have had a hard disk crash and been slowly getting everything back to normal.
This photo was taken on a night out at The Phoenix in Bristol. We then went on to the BBB and danced until very late!

By the way, this thing I'm wearing is actually an under-garment, from La Senza but makes a very nice dress in itself and far too nice to hide.
One of my favourite bars in Bristol has been through some turbulent times. It has closed twice this year and been reopened only once. So if anyone wants to run a fabulous cabaret bar in Bristol, give me a shout. I promise to be a regular customer! :-)
I found this picture from just before the first closure. Do you like my dress?
Well the other closeup went down quite well, so I thought I would risk another one!
This was taken by a good friend back in April at my favourite bar and you can see the full body shot somewhere further down my photostream.
Please let me know if you like it and whether I should continue to post piccies like this!
Thanks!
Rachael

I really like this floral pattern dress, it is very pretty and lovely to wear. When I started going out, I thought I wasn't really a dress person, but I now own a wardrobe full of them!
I love wearing dresses. I love the patterns and colours and the different styles and materials. They also make you feel very feminine!
What is your favourite thing to wear?
We had a lovely night out in Cardiff recently with 6 of us going for a meal and then clubbing. We stayed in a fabulous hotel with a spa, sauna etc. It is lovely to have a bit of pampering and then going out for some real fun!
What would you like to do if we had a night out together?
Digging through the archives... Shots like this make me realize just how much I miss summer ;-)

A lovely summer evening and a drink in the garden at The Phoenix in Bristol. There are many great bars and pubs in Bristol and we love to visit a few of them on a Saturday evening before ending up dancing until the early hours!
Do you fancy coming out for a dance sometime?
This is one of my favourite dresses for the summer - so lovely to wear and very bright and colourful!
Do you think my new shoes go well with the dress?
This is my beautiful friend Angela, isn't she gorgeous?
