Well today I decided to take a picture of these leopard print heels and use selective coulouring to make the colour pop! I really like the picture it has made.

Felix is an anthropologist. For the last few years he has been engaged in an ethnographic study of a family of panthards, a very rare breed. He became so immersed in the work that his coat changed colour to blend with his subjects. Now his academic work is done, he dreams of developing a range of skin care products which would enable pioneers such as he to regain their true colours.

Shot with Canon 5D Mark II; 580 on camera as master, remote control three remote flashes via RadioPopper: two Canon 430s (both the old EX and the EX2) and a Vivitar 285 (RadioPopper Jr). Vivitar on floor directly underneath me aimed up to light her hair (and bedsheet as well as face) through a white t-shirt (didn't have any more diffusers at hand); 430 through softbox above me and to the right, initially as key light but turned down; and the second 430 bare as edgelight on the wall behind her (mounted with a ball bungee to a candle holder mounted in wall--lots of improvising to get everything in place).
Power settings: I was chimping so much that I wasn't keeping track of what each flash was at except maybe the Vivitar, which I had at 1/16th power. The 430s were shot at ETTL with the ratio favoring the backlight.
Shot initially seemed like an outtake viewing it on the camera LCD because I just wanted her hair lit and not her face, but I couldn't get the amount correct with subsequent shots, but when I got home and looked on the computer monitor it looked great.
Very little post-production on this shot, except only to boost the contrast a little.
And you thought the sun never shined in Ohio. There it is - shining through the window of my daughter's old bedroom onto her leopard print bedspread - pattern upon pattern.
This woman came up to Sue and happily yelled "Oh my god, you're a tiger, too!!" She then saw me and then called us all "tiger buddies". She was from Germany, so we gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed her English was a bit shaky. So we didn't correct her.
