This leopard had a kill (a warthog around 150 lbs) up in the canopy of this tree. The leopard had obviously eaten and was taking a nap when we spotted it in tree. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.

Spotted this young leopard dozing up a sausage tree.

A female leopard searches for her cub in central Serengeti, Tanzania.

I took this photo in central Serengeti. We were game-driving near the Seronera airstrip when we spotted this leopard. We followed her for 4+ hours.

She had just killed and Bushbuck. My guide saw the take-down, but I missed it. She hid the carcass under a tree in a creek bed and then set off purposefully. We followed her and she began making a strange bleating sound. I wondered if she was sick, but my guide was really excited; she was calling for her cub! No sooner than my guide explained this to me and the cub came bounding out of the tall grass. She then led her cub back to the kill. We were hoping they would feast. Supposedly leopards will drag their kill into a tree to eat. She had hidden the kill at the base of a small tree and we had a stellar view. Unfortunately, she and her cub were content to play around in the tall grass at the base of the tree. It was amusing to watch the cub bounce around, but after 4 hours of stakeout, my guide and I headed back to Sayari South Camp.

I shoot periodically at the Kirshner Wildlife foundation in Butte County, California. The woman who owns the facility is a renowned animal handler and has been on shows like Jay Leno, animal planet etc. I started helping her with photos two year ago and have been allowed in cages with unbelievable cats and bears, lemurs, lynx, ligers and more. This one I had to shoot through the chain link fence which was difficult as it kept pacing and jumping.

Sub-adult male leopard, photographed last morning at Wilpattu National Park. We spent over an hour with this curious 3-4 year old young male with no other vehicles to disturb the sighting (unlike at Yala). All the other vehicles were doing the Panikka villa circuit in search of the famous young leopard there whereas we decided to go in the opposite direction, end result was this photograph (and more) while everyone else saw naught. We allowed him to get comfortable with us rather than invade his space and he allowed me probably the best leopard photo op I have had in the last 5 years. My son and I like to share photos of our gardens and unusual plants found in our wanderings. It is a connection now that we are far apart. He took the photos and then I picked from multiple pics and made the sky more vivid to bring out the oranges.
