On weekends there is long queues to get into the Leonardo 500 exhibit. When I was inside Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, heard that the queue was for around an hour.

So maybe best to try and go again in a weekday, if I have one free?

Leonardo da Vinci died 500 years ago in 1519 at the Chateau du Clos-Luce in the Loire Valley near Amboise in France.

I went there almost 10 years ago!

“Describe the tongue of the woodpecker” was on Leonardo da Vinci’s to-do list but as far as we know, he never got around to it. “Leonardo and the Woodpecker’s Tongue” was a fascinating talk and public dissection of a green woodpecker (not for the squeamish!) by Professor Tim Birkhead of the University of Sheffield at the Millennium Gallery, Thursday 2nd May 2019.
