I got out some of my prime lenses for a family photo of sorts.

Hoover over the lenses for a short description.

I got out some of my prime lenses for a family photo of sorts. The cat felt she could help with the lighting by adjusting the blind cord.

24-70mm f/2.8 @ f/2.8 (wide open)

testing the leica noctilux 50mm f/1.2, the reissue of the legendary 1966 noctilux. mounted on my sony a1m2 with an adapter. the lenses stare back, silent and unblinking. a reflection, a moment, a ghost in the glass.

This is my Micro Four Third lens collections. Focal length from 7mm to 200mm equivalent to 14mm to 400mm in 35mm terms. I believe the Lumix lenses is made of Leica glass

Still I am missing a telephoto macro lens and there is none available in this format. The only option is go to other brand such as Canon or Nikon or even legacy lens. Or I can opted for Sigma 105mm f2.8 from Four Third format which will give me a slow SAF capability

Setup:

3 white framed canvas - bought it very cheap from art shop

Slick Mini II tripod

Olympus E-P2

OM to Micro 4/3 adapter

Zuiko OM 50/1.4

Setup the 3 canvases one for the base, one for the background and one on the left as a reflector as the natural light is on the right.

Set the camera to Aperture Priority, ISO 400 mounted on a tripod.

Using the magnifying setting I magnify the focus area 10x and turn the focus ring manually until the image look sharp on the LCD and press the shutter button

Halloween may be over, but stunning autumn colors continue! We created these selective focus fall images with a lo-fi Holga lens mounted to our TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift adapter. We used the tilt function built into this adapter to create these selective focus effects in-camera.

Ever wondered how much gear we bring to the average shoot? Here's a behind-the-scenes look at one of our sessions from earlier this week. This photo was shot with our Sony A7RII and a Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm 2.4 M42 lens, mounted on the camera with a Fotodiox M42 to Sony E-mount lens adapter.

Shot taken with Pentax K-5 and SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.8 Macro Limited

These are all lenses from the early 70's. The "Super-Multi-Coated"-lenses where released in 1971, and in 1975 the new K-mount was introduced.

Bojidar Dimitrov has som more info on Super-Multi-Coating on his excellent site.

I'm presenting vintage lenses in a series that I have used each, a minimum of 16 images posted here on Flickr. Awhile back I did the 28's; now the 50's range.

I use vintage lenses adapted to my digital cameras 95% of the time over using my digital glass.

My entire lens collection as of October 2012. They are all in the same scale, so size comparison is possible.

18 lenses in four different mounts.

12 in Pentax K-mount.

4 in M42 screwmount.

1 in Micro 4/3 mount.

1 in C-mount.

The top row is Pentax DA-lenses, I use them on the K-5. Since they don't have an aperture ring it is not that easy to use them on other systems. Middle row is older Pentax K-mount lenses with aperture ring, I use them on all of my bodies (K-5, Panasonic GF2 and Pentax ME Super film camera) which also goes for the first four in bottom row, the M42 screwmount lenses. The last two lenses are one for native micro four thirds and c-mount, I use them on my GF2.

Larger size

All of the individual shots was taken with the Pentax K-5 and SMC Pentax-F 50mm F1.7 lens, except the photo of that lens which was taken with the SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 =)

All five of the SMC (Super-Multi-Coated) DA Limited lenses gathered. It is a great set that will cover you with compact metal lenses from 15 to 70mm, including a macro. I've found them to be a great match with the K-5, K-3 and K-3 II. Front lens caps are taken of here.

I thought I'd try to take a picture of my lenses for this week's Assignment52 - Photography Gear. I tried a bunch of different setups and nothing was working. So, I just lined them up and took this picture.

I used the 18-55mm kit lens that came with the D40.
