The Tadpole is commonly seen at spaceports and outposts, particularly ones that are just being built or are expanding. Often working alongside the C.A.T.T. cargo transports, the Tadpole can get into tighter spaces than many other industrial forklifts, which makes it highly valued.
Part of my 2x4 brick collection.
These are different bricks that fall outside my "normal" Bayers.
The brown/red/yellow bricks have 7x a letter and LEGO on 1 stud.
The red/white bricks are reversed and have LEGO on 7 studs and 1 with a letter...
The bottom looks very much like Minitalia bricks, also the plastic is very similar to Minitalia plastic.
Not sure if these fall under Bayer or LEGO.......
The light blue and greenish bricks have 1x a number and 7xG.
There are numbers 1 to 6, but 5 is missing...
This part became to big for my normal frames, so I had to find a new way to store and display these.

These bricks I first wanted to throw away when I found 1 or 2 with the hole in one of the studs.
Still being nice bricks, I gave one or two away untill I found more and they became a small collection of their own.
All of the right corner fault bricks are #1, there are also a few left corner faults, those have a different mold and number.
Seeing as how it's a returning problem in all colors, it must be a mold mistake.
The fault is very much identical on all bricks.
Funny how things go sometimes....

Clowns assembled - with replaced white and clear 1x2 plates (these were CA and way too small to fit on the rest).
Note the spare parts used for the alternate models! One spare trans-clear 1x1 and a white one (plus three to be used for the clowns) are missing here.

Wooden castle made by my father for Sinterklaas (1980).
It was sized for playmobil.
In the back ground is some LEGO visible.
The white car (Matchbox 1972 Lesney Tanzara ) in the box is still in my possesion:)
Btw, this is an old poloroid picture.
You can see the little sub-rover tucked in as well as the cockpit. it all opens quite nicely but the front canopy does have to go up for the dish on top to pivot into it.
AKA, King Matteo
This marks the 4th and final version of my quest to use all 4 color variants of the beaked dragon head Lego produced from the Lego Vikings line, that was used as Matteo's mask.
Bio
After a successful career in piracy, Matteo shaped the trade routes of the world to his favor, and became a wealthy merchant. Here he married a mortal woman and adopted a son. After the inevitable conclusion of their lives, Matteo moved on to one of the most difficult challenges he'd ever face...Politics.
Forgotten I had these:)
But this is warm yellowish orange (l) and very light orange (r).
Very light orange is still available on BL.
I hope the difference is visible or I will have to make a better picture.

The top row shows old logo Bayers going from light gray to white.
How many of these bricks were made flushing out the previous colors is not known.
Most of these "faulty" bricks were destroyed/re-used...
The milky white with red are abcd bricks, again a lovely transition from very marbled to almost completely white.

2023 update Sven:
“In October 2021 I presented a LEGO History Display at the LEGO event Bricks@friends in Cologne. I also presented my Bayer bricks there. On Sunday afternoon a mother, around 40 years old, suddenly stood in front of my exhibition with her little daughter and said: "Look, these are the bricks that mom made in her apprenticeship!" I got big elephant ears and asked this woman for futher informations. She knew the whole story about Bayer bricks and told me that at least until 2009 (the end of her apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Bayer) the molding machine from the 1960s was housed in the Bayer Dormagen laboratory and trainees experimented with different plastics on this molding machine. The experiments were mostly about colors. The Bayer factory in Dormagen is located between Cologne and Düsseldorf, in the vicinity of Leverkusen. She couldn't tell me whether the molding machine is still there today. In any case, she was able to confirm to me that the maschine was used there until the end of the 2010s. When I asked whether I should have her contact details for further questions, she unfortunately answered in the negative. Her husband was pretty upset that we'd talked for so long. But she answered my question whether there are photos of the machine from the time in Dormagen. She didn't have any, and taking pics was prohibited in the laboratory.
Unfortunately, I had no choice but to thank her for this interesting informations.”
The Æsel is a sturdy little transport ship, good for hauling supply pods, habitat modules and various other essential bits and pieces between outposts within a system. Built on the same frame as the LL 147 Thunderbolt Viper, but reversed in orientation.

Some ABCD bricks that are for now alone, so I grouped them.
These belong to my full sets of ABCD bricks and should be displayed ammongst them.
The 3 trans-yellow on the right are hollow bricks.
I am not sure these are test bricks, but they do have abcd on them....
Maybe one day we will find more.
These pictures do not do the real colors justice...

The Crystal Explorer Sub from 1995’s Aquanauts enters the LEGO city!
Another great AquaZone submarine, this time a large yellow sub. The vibrant color scheme pops with yellow on black and blue, highlighted with neon orange space elements and those awesome blue windshields!
I didn’t have this sub as a kid, but this sub takes my favorite aspects of the Deep Sea Predator (#6155) and upscales the playable space. While some of the interior is narrow towards the stern, the amount of storage space is significant.
Prints are great with this set and it includes several chromed elements, which are always welcome.
I’m a huge fan of the helm’s design and ability to stand the minifig captain up properly. Overall, stoked to have this ship in the collection.
What are your thoughts on this ship? Did you have it as a kid?
As always, I really enjoyed getting shots of this and experimenting with LEGO and flight stands. More retro 90’s set to be featured soon

Light, simple, and reliable, the Scrambler is a real workhorse of the Blacktron ground forces, often seen ferrying spaceship parts between factories, warehouses and spaceports. These vehicles feature a rear-facing seat at the back, allowing armed guards to keep lookout to protect any valuable cargo being carried.

So there are two stories. the Making of first.
I might have dared Andrea to draw a ship for me and boy did she give me a doozy. Seriously..it was impossible. But come Shiptember, I was up for the challenge. This sucker is 150 studs long and just about 166 or so when transformed. I love me some Pneumatics, and technic engines. Its got lights, trains, air pumps and all that shippy goodness. Greebs to a T.. and a proud artist.
Its a Kris Blade, turned into a ship..
Next, the story of the Six Demons.
Spanish leaflet 3133 from (most likely) 1965 - a four page pricelist measuring 11,5 x 15,5cm.
"El Corte Ingles" appears to be the exclusive Spanish LEGO distributor of that era, many leaflets of that era carry their distributor imprint.
The clever engineering types of the Futuron faction realised that the light body of the 'Sommerfugl' science vessel would make an ideal base for other small spacecraft. Their first modifications yielded this, the 'Aspis' Class Interceptor. Powered by the same plasma/fusion hybrid thrust units found on the 'Sommerfugl', but tweaked to increase performance, this viper is fast and agile enough to intercept all but the most advanced enemy craft. It packs four laser cannon, and a variety of communication-jamming equipment, and well as some of the scientific sensors carried over from the 'Sommerfugl'. This can help pilots and ground crew determine the best way to approach any dangerous situation in any given conditions.

The Cargo, All-Terrain Transport, or C.A.T.T., is a rugged and versatile utility vehicle used across the galaxy for moving cargo of all kinds. With its tough engineering and proprietary cargo connection system, the C.A.T.T. ensures safe and reliable delivery every time.

The Svalbard, as with all of the Ice Planet Federation's GSV fleet, is equipped with cutting-edge systems. An ample communications array allows transmission and reception across most frequencies and spectra, with a powerful tightbeam dish which can transmit back to Ice Planet HQ from anywhere in the galaxy.
Thrust is provided by two large plasma-ion hybrid units, tuned for efficiency over long circular trips around a solar system.
The main core of these vessels is built around the state-of-the-art cryogenic circuits, which are designed to perfectly preserve each ship's cargo. Three specialised reactors provide the power for these circuits, which transfer excess heat back into the thrusters, thereby increasing the efficiency of these vessels enormously.
1991’s Blacktron II little battle pack, The Two-Pilot Craft. What a name.
This fun little craft is about as basic as it gets. No printed pieces, other than the minifigs, but the weird thing has charm!
Blacktron II is a great space sub-theme with the black, white, and neon green color scheme. Really screams retro LEGO to me.
Acquiring this set was really just to grab a couple more of these minifigs for cheap, but I’m happy with this funny little craft.
More ‘90s LEGO to be featured soon, including more (larger) Blacktron II

A robotic samurai created by a rogue Matoran scientist to hunt Toa. After gaining sentience, he now works alongside them.
"Uplink and I are a team. Between us there's nothing we can't do."
I've been meaning to revamp this old set for a while, so here it is! Bigger and sturdier than the original version, I wanted to keep the "cockpit" open while offering a bit more protection to the pilot, so I went with the cage over the top. I also made it "modular" so there are different attachment options to choose from depending on the mission.
Bring back Exo-Force!
1991’s Aerial Intruder from the Blacktron II fraction enters the LEGO City!
The ‘Big’ ship from a fan favorite (myself decidedly included) sub-theme is actually not all that big compared to the other Space sub-themes’ flagships. This ship checks the majority of my criteria for what made an excellent spaceship play set as a kid!
Great color scheme and cool large transparent elements?
Blacktron 2 has arguably the best + printed large windshield!
Detachable base with usable interior space?
The center of the ship is large when opened and has an aft storage compartment. While tight when loaded with cargo, great when side-builds are deployed
Dropship/Escape Pod?
Two of the best designed simple ships that deploy from the sides, that are also designed to be compatible with the rest of the sub-theme! So simple and genius
And a bonus jetpack element that is classic
Rover?
Two! Yes, super simple, but very standard for the time.
Action features?
The simple rover launch action definitely suffices.
Droid/Robot?
Not for this faction, but I believe that’s because they were outlaws. Correct me if I’m wrong?
Yes, I’m a really big fan of this old spaceship. Any detractors, like having 5 pilot-able options with only two minifigs can be understood with all their buddies they’d have to break from the Space Police II
This Absolute Classic brings me to the conclusion of my look back at some of my favorite LEGO from the ‘90s. I’m sure I’ll do more shoots with these sets in the future, but I’ve got a ton of contemporary sets to showcase for now and a large MOC in progress.
What did you think of this ship? Did you have it? Does it hold up today?

The Shielded Shovelhead is a small, inquisitive creature that can be found in warm, damp forests, usually with its head in the dirt. The Shovelhead uses its large feet and wide, flat head to dig through soft soil in search of buried grubs, nuts, and roots.
The back is protected by a toughened carapace, out of which protrude a pair of spines. These spines vary in shape, size, and colour, and are the easiest way to tell individuals apart.
