Dr. Robotnik’s Death Egg robot from Sonic The Hedgehog series. I know his hands aren’t 100% accurate, they should be rounder and have spikes. I went with more playability when I designed this model. The legs should maybe be a different color too. Overall, I am happy with it.
Always enjoyed the character, but never got much further than Green Hill Zone when it came to gameplay.
But hey, I’m all about that nostalgia!
LEGO Ideas sets have some next-level packaging and instructions. Really good looking stuff
This set was manifestly straightforward, with many 1x1 plates. The building process helped my frustrations of having weeks-long Studio shutdown.
There are stickers, not a ton, but somewhat not the greatest around the central loop.
Biggest complaint for this set is Dr Tobotnik’s face. The gaps on the 2x2 circular elements, especially above the nose, take away a lot from an otherwise great character build. Maybe a snot technique or a custom head mold would’ve elevated the look.
It’s a nice display piece, fits in it’s box when completed - one of my favorite aspects of some of the Ideas Sets, as it makes for easy storage if you want to rotate displays

I was able to fit almost everyone on this small LEGO matt, the only characters that didn't fit were Charizard, Phantom, Mii (technically), and the Pikmin (again, technically).
This is my entire Smash 4 collection! Though I didn't include accessories of any sort, since I thought it'd be kinda pointless to show them. Anyway, now that I got all my Smash 4 characters outta the way, I can finally get back to some certain side projects.....
You may see some of these guys in the future, that is if I feel like I should update them.

This is a comparison to the Dr. Robotnik I’ve had built for a while. I feel it’s more accurate to the original design that was submitted to Lego Ideas. It’s also more posable too.

Tis Sonic Hedgehog, no?
I'll say it now to get it over with, I'm not a big Sonic fan. I only like him cuz he's fast....that's it. No offense to Sonic fans.
Anyway, his head piece is based off a normal minifig head. The face is decaled, while everything else is molded. His belly also sticks out for no reason, and his shoes are extended.
Based on his Smash appearances.

A different approach with this guy....turned out pretty well. I believe I've created something totally unique, considering I thought of this at a split second.
Changes from V1:
#1 Improved glove details
#2 New shoes/leg design, are adjustable for different heights
#3 New molded head
#4 Painted eyes, rather than decal

This is the animal capsule Dr. Robotnik uses in the games. The inside it a bit hollow, but it’s mainly for display. It is very sturdy though.

Last week, Sega unveiled Sonic X Shadow Generations, so a Green Hill Zone MOC with both classic and modern Sonic, as well as Shadow, was in order!

With the Sonic specific parts from the Green Hill Zone set, I was able to amp up a build from a few years back.
After several hours I have finally created very nicely proportioned E-123 Omega with movable arms, legs, torso rotation and ability to grasp items - Please enjoy!
