Another little minecraft vignette loosely based on that birch forest concept art Mojang put out a couple years ago. I really liked how there were some logs strewn around even though trees don't fall in the game. The ends of the stump and log also proved to be an interesting challenge. Until there's a printed piece I think this is the closest one can get. The uneveness adds some fun texture too
Hi! Today I come to you with my third build for Vignweek 2023. The prompt was to build an unexpected conflict so I decided to go with two nostalgic themes Ninjago and Minecraft. I hope you enjoy it!
Follow Steve along down into the caves. Discover the abandoned mineshaft, but watch out for the monster spawner. Venture deeper and mine for the diamonds!
Another build as part of a competition. This time it's for Cheesy Studios' Minecraft module contest. Building intentionally blocky was new for me and a fun challenge.
For my module I wanted to recreate, as accurately as possible, one of my all time favorite biomes. I tried playing to my strengths, using a lot of SNOT techniques. Everything in my build, apart from the colors can be recreated physically. I'm the most satisfied with the grass, the potted allium, and the snow layer on the trees. For that last one I definitely got some inspiration from the newest Ferrari set. Other, less convoluted builds that I'm proud of are the cauldron, enchanting table and the painting. It's a bit lower of a resolution than in-game but try guessing which one it's supposed to be lol!
This is a preview image of a Minifigure I build to represent a character I created for the Brick Comic story I'm currently working on :)
I used only "official" Lego parts and so we can call it a "purist Minifigure". If you are interested I'll gladly tell you the parts I used.
I will also tell more about him when I upload the next photos of this character but in the meantime I can tell you he is one of the most trusted servants of a powerful being who has surfed the Multiverse from time immemorial. The Harbinger is his herald; the vanguard of the super villain's campaigns.
I created a very vast universe where I set my Brick Comics. I already made two stories and I'm working on the third. If you are interested in these kind of projects, feel free to let me know and I'll share more of them here :)

A First Order unit took control of a building on strange alien world.
A Snowtrooper is guarding its entrance.
Snow begins to fall down but that won't be a problem for the First Order soldier, after all Snowtroopers love snow :)
This is a very simple image I made while experimenting with the snow effect on the editing software. I find it somehow "rudimentary" compared to my previous photos but I still wanted to share it with you.

It appears the First Order is not a huge fan of Steve Minifigures :)
Stormtrooper 1: "Those Steve Minifigures are boring"
Stormtrooper 2: "Yeah, I know. Simple printing and they come in every single set of that theme. So basic. They're not like us."
Stormtrooper 1: "At least they make a good workforce. We need to build more transports for our war efforts..."
Stormtrooper 2 (to nearest Steve): "Hey Cube Head! Be careful with that brick!"
Stormtrooper 1: "...If they stop dropping bricks around!"
Stormtrooper 2 (now to Stormtrooper 1): "I hope the supervisor will teach them a lesson."
Poor Steve Minifigures! Hopefully the Resistance will free them :)
Built this tiny vignette last year along with my other minecraft mocs as a way to try out some of the more expensive techniques on a smaller scale. Building block accurate is really fun and I'm for sure going to build something minecraft related again at some point.

Stranded on a strange alien planet a group of First Order Snowtroopers found shelter in a local building (Minecraft Snow Hideout :) )
As night falls a Snowtrooper begins his patrol duty, surrounded by the peculiar landscape on this strange, new world.
I know the Snowtrooper's details are barely noticeable but I wanted to focus more on lightning and on the Minifigure's "silhouette " to make the shot more atmospheric :)
This is the first time I combine Lego Star Wars and Minecraft sets.

After a long bout, dealing with the piglin hordes, the hero of legends descend his big beaked friend for a moment of rest. Though one shall be careful when lowering their guard as strange creatures may lurk, hidden in the shadows.
For my physical entry in Cheesy Studios' contest I didn't have quite the number of pieces in the right colors, so I had to get creative. I chose to build it in the style of Minecraft: legends as it has a looser style (the big stone golems can be found off-grid buried in the ground) and to build the environment in a gradient radiating out from the fire, changing the natural hues of the forest. I used a yellow color only available with duplo to get the right vibrance. For the composition I took some inspiration from the artwork of Hyper Light Drifter. Something about the player character resting against some huge statue is just really appealing to me. Lastly I tried a new technique when photographing the module, painting in the lighting using a projector to get the right mood. The last picture shows the ground in a more natural light.
Stranded on an alien planet a First Order's unit is looking for shelter when one of their scouts finds a local building.
Will this planet be an new addition to the First Order's dominion or will it prove itself full of dangers?
They need is a place to protect themselves form the snow storms as they fix their communication devices.

The small heads can rotate freely and the body has a technic structure so that you can hold it like a handle :)

For a Wookiee the sight of a tree is always a delight. It recalls memories of Kashyyyk. However these Minecraft trees are so strange: they are so short and their form is so unfamiliar :)
I realized I only posted one photo featuring a Wookiee, so I decided to post this one, where a Wookiee is visiting the Minecraft world and he seems to not like local trees :)
Well, after all Wookiees are accustomed with very different kind of trees :)

Wound up buying these two sets as one of my local Walmarts made a mistake of pricing these two sets at cheaper prices than what they are supposed to be. Best guess is that an employee printed up the price tags incorrectly during the latest reset.
Since the tags were on the shelf, The store honored the prices and I got the Sword Outpost for $24.97 (normally $44.97) and The Deep Dark at $49.97 (normally $65). Happy I was able to save some money. It was amusing though to see a third set normally $24.97 marked at $65.00.
While there, I had my first sighting of Minifigures Series 24, so I picked up 3/4 minifigures that I wanted. (Sadly, this series will be the last experience I'll have of being able to feel for the figures since the packaging will be moving away from the foil packaging.)
