With two boys we did the mandatory visit to Legoland this summer. Wow, what a place for both kids and parents. A personal favourite of mine is Miniland.
A superbly detailed miniature version of Nyhavn harbour in Copenhagen, Denmark.
My big question is... How many lego pieces were used to recreate Nyhavn?
A festive trip to Legoland Windsor. Truly a magical place for children at any time of year but extra special at Christmas.
A few pictures from my day long job interview at LEGOLAND California. I interviewed to be a Model Builder at the Model Shop, but was unable to take the job.
It killed me to turn them down, but DC is about as awesome a LEGO city as you can get after LEGOLAND or Seattle.
I recreated the classic LEGOLAND (Yellow) castle in tan and put in on a rocky outcrop for the Classic Castle Contest XVI's Classic Castle Category.
I kept the main castle features, including the three towers, gatehouse, drawbridge and buttresses. The largest change I made (other than the color) was to enclose the back tower. I also added paths to the inside of the castle.
On the final day of her spring break week, Amelia got a surprise trip to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in the Great Lakes Crossing Mall

LEGOLAND sent out a press release yesterday with some bad news: Star Wars Miniland will be removed from all LEGOLAND parks. January 6th, 2020 will be the last day that visitors can view a selection of epic scenes from all of the Star Wars movies recreated in miniland-scale.
