I know that technically this probably isn't up to scratch, but it does somehow capture what this place feels like. The loneliness of hills, forested bogland.
Legend - Moeraki. 🇳🇿
Whether you subscribe to the Māori legend that sees these as ancient ‘eel baskets’, washed ashore after the sinking of the Arai-te-uru canoe, or the more recent scientific explanations of rock formation – I’m yet to find a single person who doesn’t find the Moeraki Boulders simply fascinating when they’re revealed by the ocean.
Embedded within the beach and surrounding cliffs on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island, these 6-8ft wide natural sculptures are still forming, moving and eroding – presenting a landscape that shifts with time as well as the ebb and flow of the Pacific waves.
Catch the tide at the wrong time, and you’ll struggle to see any of them. Catch an approaching wave on this incredibly shallow beach, and you’ll find both you and your camera soaked to the core. Click the button at the right time, however, and you’re rewarded with one of the most serene views in the natural world.
So I needed to empty out my box of Marvel Legends tonight. I needed to get pictures of Iron Fist, Sasquatch and Maestro. Most of these were at the bottom.
I don't just tip the box out willy nilly and let them get bashed around, I carefully unpack it and stand the marvels up one by one.. these have been re-arranged slightly, but not to the stage where they are in a dramatic scene or shot. I was quite taken back at how many I have, this doesn't include the figures I have from the HML series or the Fantastic Four Box Set. See the Tags list for the figures or characters in this picture.
Aka; the first appearance of the modern Suicide Squad, which you may well know, is my favorite super-team of all time. After seeing Xenomorph79's shot of the line-up I realized it was one of the major Squads I hadn't completed yet, so I jumped onto that ship.
Flag has an updated torso/legs, and Floyd's toting the gun used to help bring down Brimstone, Boomerang has a bandoleer now, and Tiger is Tiger.
Enchantress however, has a CMF Wacky Witch hat that I painted green and black, and a scarf made from the CMF Judge's robes.
Now let's talk about Blockbuster. I knew if I was gonna make a Bigfig, it was gonna be him, cause I just couldn't find a way to represent him as a standard minifig that I actually like. I've never done a Bigfig before, but for my skills I feel like he turned out pretty okay. Face is a little wonky but, it is in the comics too, so I'm alright with that. Base is just a standard Hulk fig, and indeed he does have his trademark mullet, albeit just painted down his back because a sculptor I am not.
The paint used was Model Masters over a spray-on white primer base for both Blockbuster and Enchantress's hat.
Anyways, I'm stoked to have this classic line-up together at last.

Legend is a male great white shark that some of the Mexican researchers were tracking on my last trip to Isla de Guadalupe.
He was certainly one of the more curious white sharks that I've encountered at the island and often times would swim right up to the camera.
In this image he actually kept enough difference for me to get a decent profile shot of his left side.

Hase-dera (海光山慈照院長谷寺 Kaikō-zan Jishō-in Hase-dera), commonly called the Hase-kannon (長谷観音) is one of the Buddhist temples in the city of Kamakura in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, famous for housing a massive wooden statue of Kannon.
The temple originally belonged to the Tendai sect of Buddhism, but eventually became an independent temple of the Jōdo-shū.
Legend has it that the temple was established in the Tenpyō era (729-749 C.E.). However, documents at the temple suggest that the temple really came into its own during the Kamakura period (1192-1333).
