On 24th January 2011, the "Lecture on Haiku" by Madoka Mayuzumi took place at the Cultural and Information Center of the Embassy of Japan. She is a Japan Cultural Envoy on program sponsored by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of the Japanese government. More than 70 people including some Belgian haiku poets attended the lecture and experienced the Japanese culture through Haiku. Another get-together was held on 25th January in Gent where Madoka had a passionate discussion with 30 mostly Flemish haiku poets.

Arnold J. Kemp is an Associate Professor and the Chair of Painting & Printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University. His work can be found in the collections of institutions such as The Studio Museum in Harlem, NYC; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; The Tacoma Art Museum; The University of California-Berkeley Art Museum; and others. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants such as the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellowship, and the Pollock Krasner Foundation Fellowship. Arnold J. Kemp formerly held the position of Assistant Professor and Chair of the MFA in Visual Studies Program at PNCA. He is represented by PDX Contemporary in Portland, Oregon.

Lectures on Gaelic education on the 16th of May 2013, presented as part of the 60th anniversary of Lews Castle College in Stornoway.
The evening was hosted by Professor Matthew Maciver, Chair of Court at the University of the Highlands and Islands, with Francis Murray, rector of the Nicolson Institute, and Iain Macmillan, principal of Lews Castle College, giving lectures on Gaelic education.
