An important concept of mathematics is the ability to interpret the size and volume of something with respect to another. The pre-number concept of big and small was thus introduced through fun-filled activities that encouraged learning by doing in class. Learning through participation is an effective way to make the concept interesting and enjoyable learning without boredom. Preschool children are very observant and this trait can be put to use to introduce new concepts to them. Thus child centric and activity based methodologies are designed to encourage learning in children.
After a child understands about different sizes, he or she is able to understand about other similar concepts like lesser than, greater than, larger than, smaller than, and equal to or the same as. Such stimuli are precursors to developing mathematical, sequential, analytical and logical thinking in children.

This piece demonstrated the idea of muffling sound. Loud and annoying noises were played and you had to choose the material that best blocked it out. Learning by doing

HAF is working through the National Endowment for Democracy program in Al Haouz provice to empower locally elected women and build their facilitation and management skills in participatory development processes through HAF’s learning by doing approach.
Locally Elected Women (LEW) face many challenges in their communities, since their positions are not widely accepted.
The elected women show an eagerness to change their status from passive into active leaders.

I took advantage of the storeroom at work after hours today. It's totally dark when the lights are off.
I set up my tripod, set my camera and started playing with flashlights and my strobe.
This one turned out pretty good.
Meaning, it isn't too blurred.
Blur with a tripod, how you ask?
I was moving.
Me on left and right got 1 shot of my 1/64th strobe.
Me in the middle got 2 or 3 (foggy brain cells) pops.
Obviously I moved.
Learning by doing!
