It snowed last night so it was a day to do inside projects

 

Since I am spending at least 30 minutes a day on drum lessons it seems I can spend at least 30 minutes a day on something guitar related. I have chosen to go through one of the many books I have and devote a similar amount of time to it that I am spending on drum lessons. So, I selected the Neoclassical Speed Strategies for Guitar by Chris Brooks book since I have had it for nearly 4 years and haven't gotten into it at all!

 

I installed the strap buttons and the bridge in the Shamrock Green Warmoth Strat body. This means I soldered a ground wire to the brass spring claw. I installed 4 noiseless springs but I haven't installed the trem stopper yet.

The Arboretum, Cork Supply and Viticulture Department has brought a cork harvest of cork oak trees to campus on May 30, 2024. Cork is traditionally harvested in Portugal and Spain. Mature trees are harvest every nine years with each year the cork becomes denser, reaching food grade in the third years. This event will bring together education and wine industry stakeholders, media and students for conversation, celebration and learning at live events. Fredrico Mayer brought two cork harvesters from Portugal, Joao Ferreira (younger) and Carlos Ferreira (older), to demostrate how all cork is harvested with an axe.
