Been on crunch mode in my RL work these past few days and i've been thinking how despite the mild complaints and all-nighters, I feel blessed to be able to do what I love. All the times i've struggled to find courage to follow this dream, and yet here I am, following the light that I knew would be there at the end of the tunnel. Still a long way to go, but I'll just keep following this light~

The old wall on Lingmoor Fell provides a great Lead-in line for the drama of the snow-capped Langdale Pikes.

The New Years Eve tradition of 'Bleigießen' (molibdomancy/lead-pouring), is commonly found in certain parts of Europe and some other countries, if online sources are to be believed. Small metal figurines (in shapes of good luck symbols, bottles etc.) are molten in a special spoon over a candle and then poured into a bowl of water! The shapes which are created by that are then interpreted as signs/symbols for the coming year!
In my home country of Austria it‘s not something everybody does, but it seems to be common enough for these little metal figurines to be sold in grocery stores all around! If you stop to think about it, it‘s probably not the best idea ever to add molten metal and fumes into the mix of fireworks, lack of sleep and alcohol that accompany that night, but I guess part of tradition is also not constantly questioning it 😅!

Directly used MT17 Selenium toner decreases the saturation. After a pre-toning with Lead, the opposite happens.

A pencil lead consists of a part graphite and a part clay. The hardness of a pencil is determined by the composition of these components. Pencils with a lot of clay and little graphite have a higher hardness than pencils with little clay and a lot of graphite.
Pencils have codes that indicate the hardness. HB is an average office pencil. 9H is very hard (a lot of clay and little graphite) and 9B is very soft (a lot of graphite and little clay).
Pencils with a high degree of hardness are extremely suitable for very fine drawing, with thin lines such as technical drawing. The softer pencils are especially popular among artists for sketching, for example for creating shadows and dark areas.

The Pastures across the River Aln (the 'stripe' beyond the cattle) from Alnwick Castle afford wonderful views of the castle itself. Quite often, however, they have occupants who don't always appreciate sharing them! Thankfully it was a very warm morning and late enough in the season for the year's calves to have lost their younger inquisitiveness, so walking past them was no bother (though I did put Teazel on the lead just in case). My reward was the lovely sight of the herd (and bonus flock of sheep!) with the sunlit castle beyond in crystal clear light.

A sailing catamaran ( lead ) is a multihull vessel that is characterized by having two separate hulls, which are generally similar or identical in size. Because of their dual-hull design, they offer more space and will lay on the water like a raft, for less heeling when enjoying sailing on the open waters. These boats were originally crafted in the South Pacific as a way to navigate the shallow waters with increased stability, for transporting passengers and goods between various islands. They became popular for sailing in the 1960s and 70s and are now one of the most common sailing vessels available.

This was entered in the KCPA ( Kent County Photographic Association ) and I recieved a merit award 20/20 which is a great honour , there were 33 clubs that had entered a panel of 8 images !
Mittimatalik, known in English as Pond Inlet, is located on the northerly tip of Baffin Island in the Lancaster Sound region on the east side of Eclipse Sound.
The region has one of Canada's most inhospitable climates—with long, dark winters and temperatures averaging −30.8 °C (−23.4 °F) (December to February, meteorological reckoning). By 2021, Pond Inlet with a population of 1,555, along with Clyde River with 1,181 and Qikiqtarjuaq with 593, comprised the population of the Arctic Cordillera—about 3,300 people. Most of the people who live in the region survive by hunting, fishing, and trapping.
It is at this location, it is believed, was the last sighting of HMS Terror and HMS Erebus in 1845, of the ill fated Franklin expedition, by a party of Inuit whalers. The ships were observed transiting Eclipse Sound, shown above, into Navy Board Inlet on their search for the Northwest Passage.
With an entourage of about 30 foamers in attendance, PT-98 arrives at Slateford Junction in the Delaware Water Gap to interchange with NS.
No clouds to worry about this time unlike our trip in August. Huge shout out to Wak the Lumberjack for clearing this hillside out while we were waiting. What a stud!
The river can just be seen through the brush in front of the lead unit. There's still a tower hidden in the growth to the left. Shots of EL SD45's on pig trains here are pretty amazing in the lack of shrubbery.
A former Cotton Belt GP40-2 is paired with a former Mo-Pac GP15-1 on UP train YFX80R-26 creeping through 30th St and up to BN Crossing on the KCT after leaving the former MKT Glen Park Yard via the Cooper's Lead. They're trying to head home to UP's Quindaro Yard at Fairfax on their hours of service after being held up at 30th St. for a couple of hours. 3/27/23.
