"Hope" is the thing with feathers-- That perches in the soul-- And sings the tune without the words-- And never stops--at all--

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

I have been unwell lately and mostly have spent time contemplating ----and worried about myself----, but like Einstein said, everything is in order now and I am happy.

Thank you so much for all your comments, invites and faves, it is overwhelming!!!!

Macro Mondays, March 30 th theme: Layer

The fog is thick over Lake Mjøsa at sunrise

Autumn colors on Mt. Mansfield, Stowe, Vermont.

A thin layer of snow at the beginning of winter.

I am glad I took this last winter because in summer they repaired the barn in front and it doesn't look as weathered now.

Morning mist lying in the bottom of the Eden Valley at sunrise, in Cumbria, England

.. for Macro Monday's LAYER .. 4.7cm x 7cm .. HMM & stay well!

More early misty morning loveliness from last year. Overlooking the Thames in South Oxfordshire.

Autumnal landscape between Basel and Aarau

Spring is, by far, my favourite time of the year. The switch from the dark, cold and often wet days to brighter, warmer and more dry days is absolutely wonderful.

Here I love the contrast between the dead branches in the front, the young, green birches and the…umm…beeches? in the background against the sky with the clouds. It produces a nice layering effect and everything just looks so fresh.

It has always amazed me to see hummingbirds close-up and in person. This was shot at Huntington Beach Central Park, and then I added a couple of layers of my own texture.

Looking westward from near Steele's Tavern, Virginia at sunset

The darkest foreground slopes belong to the Blue Ridge, and the more distant ridges across the Shenandoah Valley are part of the Appalachian Mountains.

The peak at the left edge is (I'm pretty sure) Droop Mountain in West Virginia, some 70 miles (110km) away

After centuries of weathering and a big fall of snow, this rock near the summit of Oxen Craig on Bennachie looks like a badly iced cake!!

Still looking back at that sunset at Windy Post, Dartmoor. I think that (along with the Burnham visit) was my favourite shoot of 2022! This was just the general view looking out over the moor. Such an atmospheric place!

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES

ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

A sunset at Shenandoah National Park...I thought about introducing a different style as I said before but I am not comfortable yet...So...Until then I will just post what I know best...

I will post all the photos from our trip to SNP which I was not going to since I was not all that excited about the results...But I will anyway.

Hope you have a fantastic Monday!

make us interesting.” - Ellen DeGeneres.

On this evening, I wasn't expecting much of a sunset so I didn't bring my tripod as I walked the shoreline of Lake Huron. Then when this happened, I tried handheld to capture the blush of pink on the water as the sun was going down. I was surprised at how well it worked! The layers of textures and light was a lovely mix to make a simple sunset interesting.

Sedona, Arizona is a stunning destination offering all types of activities for adventure seekers, spiritual searchers, and photographers alike.

From the vantage of Chicken Point looking south, the non-motorized Little Horse Trail wends its way through the Coconino National Forest along the edge of the Munds Mountain Wilderness, seen here. Although the red rock is spectacular, and the blue green of the pinion pines and junipers contrasts nicely, I felt that the textures of the forest, geology and the heavy clouds made a more compelling image.

Macro Mondays ~ Layer

Detail from the corner of my daily newspaper.

Stay safe and well everyone.

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated.

The seasons at the end of year add layers to the earth as it gets bedded down for a good slumber over the winter. First are the fall leaves and dead plants. Now it is the snow as it sprinkles a few layers at a time until the big dump. It also means I start my layers for outside wear! We are having lots of grey days but we just snuggle up indoors.

Feel like in a fairytale, with fantastic clouds over the layer cliffs with lights through the clouds at a lovely village, Viðareiði, Norðoyar, Faroe Islands.

GPS might not the exact point of this photo.

Have a nice day everyone! ❤️

Corrugated cardboard - end view.

Illumination: window light, LED panel on top surface of the cardboard.

The layers in the rocks exposed there at the canyon are amazing to see and even better under rising and setting light. Here the layers can be seen zoomed in, taken from the south rim here in the morning after sunrise.
