In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

“The night was so very still that one should have been able to hear the whisper of roses in blossom—the laughter of daisies—the piping of grasses—many sweet sounds, all tangled up together. The beauty of moonlight on familiar fields irradiated the world.”
― L.M. Montgomery,
Laughter is both an opposite and an equal
to falling
For both moments of humanity
You forget about your physical Pain
Poverty
Genocide
Discrimination
and are simply complex molecules moving
Dancing frantically
Trying like mad to keep you alive.

That I have fallen
Amidst the laughter
That surrounds me, and that sometimes
It gets too loud.”

""Ho, ho, ho, I have some good news for you!! The Santa's from 'Origami-land' have permission to visit the human world and are on their way"", says this Santa Mask ;-)))
If you want, you can read some facts about the figure 'Santa':
'""Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, or simply Santa, is a legendary character originating in Western Christian culture, who is said to bring gifts on Christmas Eve of toys and candy to well-behaved children, and either coal or nothing to naughty children.
He is said to accomplish this with the aid of Christmas elves, who make the toys in his workshop at the North Pole and flying reindeer who pull his sleigh through the air.
Santa is generally depicted as a portly, jolly, white-bearded man, often with spectacles, wearing a red coat with white fur collar and cuffs, white-fur-cuffed red trousers, red hat with white fur, and black leather belt and boots, carrying a bag full of gifts for children. He is commonly portrayed as laughing in a way that sounds like "ho ho ho"."""

"""Coca-Cola did not create the legend of Santa Claus. But Coca-Cola advertising did play a big role in shaping the jolly character we know today.
Before 1931, there were many different depictions of Santa Claus around the world, including a tall gaunt man and an elf —there was even a scary Claus.
But in 1931, Coca-Cola commissioned illustrator Haddon Sundblom to paint Santa for Christmas advertisements. Those paintings established Santa as a warm, happy character with human features, including rosy cheeks, a white beard, twinkling eyes and laughter lines.
Sundblom drew inspiration from an 1822 poem by Clement Clark Moore called “A Visit from St. Nicholas” —commonly known as “Twas the Night Before Christmas".”""

A Baby's Laughter Is The Best Thing In The World.
Unless It's 3 A.M., You're In Bed, Alone, And You Don't Have A Baby.
I ran down to the beach, which probably was not the brightest of my own ideas as it was icy, cold, and it was early in the morning. At this point I didn't care. I prayed that the Lord would paint the sky and I was not about to miss the beauty He had in store. I set up my equipment as quick as possible and kicked my legs out on the beach and shot picture after picture and just sat there and laughed. I laughed in joy with the Lord and I will forever remember how special this morning was! He is so good and full of beautiful surprises for His children and for the brokenhearted in the world. I am so thankful that God is infinite as it means I can spend the rest of my life discovering sweet and amazing truths about Him and yet there will still be more to find!
They both take pictures! :)

"Always find a reason to laugh, it may not add years to your life but it surely will add life to your years"
Palliative care. End of life care. Two more days to live, says the doctor with the computer screen. He is like a visitor from another planet. Making pronouncements, about life or death. Does not know the "patient". Then, "four weeks to live". That was four months ago. The "patient" gets tenderness from the nurses who are talking with him, touching him, listening to his stories. The patient is asking them about their lives, their hopes and all the suffering. Suddenly, worlds of communication are opening up. Stories are shared. The patient is a person again, laughing, sometimes about the doctors, sometimes in the face of life's end. That laughter!

So, the least likely thing I expected for this project has, in fact, happened. I finished. It took 15 months - two dead cameras, one stolen, and various life events conspired to draw this out. Whatever.
I learned a little about photography, and I learned a lot about paying attention. This last was my primary goal, and I'm satisfied that I came away with a heightened awareness of the world around me. And in the course of it all, I managed to take a few self-portraits I don't actually hate :-)
But mostly, I've learned about you. I've met people from all over the world, seen their art, tasted their culture, and experienced their generosity and friendship. I can't possibly express how meaningful this year has been to me.
Thank you, all of you, for the comments, encouragement, suggestions and laughter. For caring.
I'll be spending my flickr time in the near future catching up with your streams. I have so much yet to see, and I want to see it all! :-)

A very Merry Christmas to all you dear Flickr friends!
Through all the wonderful festivities, the colors, the laughter, the family gatherings, and the gift giving, remember the original Gift of Christmas... that God entered our broken world, sending Jesus Christ to be born, to live, to die on the Cross, to rise again, so that all of us could be reconciled to Him, to know Him, to be healed by Him, and to live for Him through faith and love.
Happy Birthday, Jesus.
This is my favorite quote from a book I read this year by David Yoon entitled Frankly in Love about young forbidden love first between a Korean American boy and a white girl at his school and then oddly between two Korean Americans..it's about friction within the culture...it's about a stubborness that refuses to take a break and it's about terminal illness too...and friendship...and sexual orientation as well just a bit.
It's complicated.
